oooooo, I'm so excited! Calm down. (deep breath)

OK, just saw it on on NBC Today's Consumer Electronics Show segment. The reporter demonstrated a new Atari 2600 portable gaming system. It look *just like a joystick* from the classic Atari, but it's not an ordinary joystick, because it contains all the Atari hardware with audio/video cables which you plug into your TV!

He didn't say how many games it had :( but he did demonstate using the classic Adventure cartridge. I want one NOW. Where do I order it???

Man they butchered Adventure so badly I wouldn't bother.
(the secret room's text is "TEXT" like they forgot to insert some text)
And I don't know how all those paddle games would work either @_@

Bottom line that joystick is for Hardcore collectors and people who
haven't played Atari in 15-20 years and whant to show their kids what
games they played growing up.

I'm still gonna buy one, but I'm not quite THAT exited about it :hmm:

The one shown at CES had white ink on top with an Atari logo in the top-right corner. Is that the same as Avon's model?

If the games are ported versions, rather than the actual games, I'm not interested. I want to play the actual games from my youth not imitations.

I'm surprised someone hasn't produced an "Atari Classics" cart for Gameboy Advance portable. That would be cheaper than creating a from-scratch piece of hardware.

The games are:
Asteroids
Adventure
Circus Atari
Centipede
Gravitar
Breakout
Missile Command (maybe the worst port)
Yar's Revenge
Pong
RealSports Volleyball
Most of the graphics & sounds aren't exact, but I was glad to have bought it. I had most of them at one time or another, but looking back through my collection, they're gone! I'd say if your an Atari/retro/video game fan of ANY kind, get this. Plus, no more shaky paddles!
