I don't see why they'd bother taking them out. Though it would probably land the game a teen rating if they didn't.

Nah... SoR is really mild by today's standards. I say E 10+ (which was practicalyl created for these sort of borderline situations) at worst.
Anyway, they're great games, and I hope this means there's still a sliver of hope for a revival of the series.

If last time is anything to go by... they'll take out these extras for the American and European versions... and then reinstate them when the game makes it to the PS2 and Xbox. Sega will probably milk this... again!

Yup i agree, the japanese version of the sonic collection had comix zone & the ooze as extra hidden games & sega took them out for the us & european versions.
They will probably do the same thing & strip the extra games out.
Poofta!

We've got Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Mega Collection Plus. Now we've got Sonic Gems heading to the GameCube with the likes of Sonic CD and Fighters... and then, no doubt, we'll enjoy a Plus remix with a few more hit and miss additions.
And I'll probably end up owning all 4.

Since the bonus games are in the Japanese version of Gems Collection, then they would have to be the Japanese versions as well...

What was censored in Streets of Rage 3?

Parts of the storyline were taken out, costumes and colours changed, name changes... pretty much everything. I believe Streets Of Rage Online (http://www.classicgaming.com/soronline/sor3_sor3vsbk3.htm) has a complete list of what was changed.
What was censored in Streets of Rage 3?
One of the boss characters in the Japanese version is rather...err...flamboyant.

Aw, geez, that's not all. Ash's removal was only the beginning. That was a change I could tolerate, but... what I can't comprehend is why Axel and Blaze's colors were changed, as well as the names of all the enemy characters, the bitching intro with the nuclear explosion and Axel punching the screen, and worst of all, the difficulty. The difficulty... I hate to bitch about it, but when it's accelerated to a point when the game's not fun anymore, that's when I get angry. The Japanese version's challenge is fair and the game is damned fun, but the U.S. version... no. Just... no. Whoever the hell in Sega of America decided to bowdlerize the third game of the trilogy needs a crotch kick.
I apologize for that derailing... back to focus, it would seem odd to have two completely different (yet classic) Sega series released, but I'm not complaining. Hell, I want the Golden Axe trilogy packed on there as well as The Return Of Death Adder! :D

Bah. I have that 6-Pak cart on the Genesis that has SOR1, and it's that K-A rating or whatever E was back then.

So?
I'm just judging a possible rating that the ESRB would give a game like streets of Rage if it were released nowadays. I mean, most fighting games no matter how tame they are always seem to land a teen rating at the very least, so why would a beatumup like Street of Rage be any different?

Yeah... but following that logic wouldn't Sonic Gems Collection already be getting a T rating for Sonic the Fighters? It's these sorts of situations (similar to SSB:M, another very tame fighter that got a T) that caused the ESRB to create the E 10+.

This sonic gems will have the arcade version of sonic (system32)? Sonic R will have better 3d graphics than saturn version, at least graphics of pc version? THis compilation really lookin good with uncommon sonic titles

Well it looks as if they are pulling Streets of Rage from the US version afterall...
http://cube.ign.com/articles/632/632042p1.html
...and replacing it with Vectorman 1 and 2.
Thoughts?

I think it's a bad idea for them to put vectorman 1 and 2 in they weren't really anything special, i mean i have vectorman 1 and it is fun but I would by far prefer the 3 streets of rage way before vectorman
that's pretty dissapointing now, that it's changed almost altering my thought if it's really worthwhile to get it.

Well, at least they're replacing them with something. I wouldn't be surprised at all if SoR 1-3 came back on Sonic Gems Collection Plus or something along those lines.

It's a damn shame if you ask me.
I'm alright with the Vectorman games, but the SOR games are better and have far more replayability.
It doesnt really suprise me they yanked the series out of the collection though.
Hopefully its a sign that something better is in store for the SOR trilogy in the future? :::Crosses fingers:::

what the crap, I already have the two vectorman games :(
I'd rather have the SOR trilogy. STUPID SEGA!!! At least bring over the Penguin Land remake to make up for this!

Why would they do that? I can't believe it's just because of the teen rating. Don't they get it??? The x-generation is all grown up. That’s who they need to cater to.

That just made the difference between me buying it and not buying it. SOR is one of my favorite series of games, and Vectorman is kinda blah to me. I would have bought this disc if it had the SOR games on it. Now? I'll wait until it is $7.99 used at ebgames.
Way to think it through, Sega.

Ditto, although I understand the whole rating thing.. but I don't mind, I have all 3 SoR

We lose 2 amazing games and 1 ok game and in return they give us 2 ok games.
Way to go sega, all in the name of the "E" rating. You are amazing in the business world sega, Please make me your apprentice ^.^ Now I know why the dreamcast was so successful.

For all the parents that let they're 9-year-old buy GTA, I've seen other parents refuse to get T-rated games.
I still remember being in a GameStop and listening to a 11-year-old (there-a-bouts) ask his mom to get Jet Set Radio Future and have her flat out refuse because it was for "TEEN"

All the more reason to buy it if the Streets of Rage Trilogy is in it. I love Streets of Rage 2, its probably one of the better games for the Genesis.

My guess is that it will be in the PS2 and Xbox versions since they are coinsidered the "grown up" consoles, so I'm gonna wait on buying it untill then. If it isn't I'll just get it when it hits below $10 and eventually just pick up the actual SoR 3, since it's the only one I'm missing.
