View Full Version : Complete Japanese MD & 32X Collection
Since some people did not "believe" me when i posted a scan of each "rare" japanese MD game, when i told i own EVERY Japanese MD release,as well as 32 X release ( and you'll see i own too MANY other complete collections ) i decided to post here the same pictures i posted on a french forum whent hey asked me to.
If you can read japanese, you'll see that i indeed have ALL japanese md releases,as well as some "unreleased/homebrew"games such as Divine Sealing, Tekken VS Street Fighter,etc..i classify games by japanese alphabetic..

Holy muffin-velvet waste products of the 31st century! That's astonishing. Congratulations on being so utterly awesome!
Do you have a room-of-doom to show us? :D
No,i don't
itis VERY easy to get a "room of doom" full of not valuable games..i could buy lots of nes games for $1 a piece..
This MD&32X complete collection is worth $30000
and my complete PC engine Hucard/SCD/SCD complete collection is worth the same price or so,considering i do have around 250 games factory sealed in this collection..the 7 caravan hucards, Darius alpha complete with 3d Glasses AND certificate Letter AND Nec Avenue Padded Envelope...i have too some valuable turbo duo games like Dynastic Hero...
As told earlier,i do have around 20 complete collections...i'll be able to post later pics of other collections...
but i can' make ONE room of doom with all i have...it'd be more like an APARTMENT of doom :)

One last question, do you have Tetris for MD? (maybe even a pirate copy?)

Holy shit!
My GAWD!!!
OMFG!!!
@_@ @_@ x_x x_x :hmm: X_x
Yes,of course i do have a "pirate" Tetris for MD,the "common"pirate you can see,worth $100 or so...
I do know existence of Tetris cart for $4000 or so,but i still don't consider it much legitimate than pirate Tetris..for me,even if the box is nicer, there is instructions,etc...it is not official either.[/list]
anagrama
06-17-2005, 10:14 AM
The last pirate Tetris on eBay sold for about £10, not $100.
And I don't know how the genuine one can't be considered 'official' - sure, it was never released, but it was programmed & manufactured by Sega.
But hey, Tetris or no Tetris, that is one sick collection ;)
I took the 10000 Yens price i generally it goes for in japanese auctions, when it comes with box...
Whatever..i do have this one,not the 400000 yens one :)
But i saw some Maximum Carnage going for 120000 Yens...Batman Forever for 70000...and WWF Raw for 60000 EASILY...
I spoke with an UK collector, and he thought such complete collection ( along with all Mega CD jpn games ) was worth 20000£...which would do around $40000
That's why i said $30000,it's more realistic...considering i do have all hardware too ( MD,MD2,Mega Cd,Mega CD2,Mega Jet,etc..even the famous Aiwa Mega CD Radio/Tape/CD player in box,which is worth $700 easily )

This MD&32X complete collection is worth $30000
I seriously doubt anyone would pay 30,000 dollars for this. It *might* be worth that in your eyes, it *might* be worth that in mine, but you'll never get that.
Anyone care to disagree with me on this one?
anagrama
06-17-2005, 10:30 AM
Don't worry, I'm not doubting the overall value ;)
And I'm surprised a pirate cart fetches that much in Japan - I'll have to keep an eye out for them now to try trading with my Japanese contacts :)
Also, I heard from someone else that another genuine Tetris changed hands a while back for around 900,000 yen (!) in a private deal, but I don't know how reliable that is.

Too bored to check but do you also have japanese Comix Zone and Gauntlet?
I agree very few ppl on this earth would pay such money at one TIME
However,by selling my games one by one, meaning the 418 MD games, the 18 32x ones, the 114 or so Mega CD ones ( and many are Factory Sealed ), plus some rare unreleased ones ( i do have some rare Sega CD/Mega CD prototypes like Force Striker Alpha ), and ALL pieces of hardware,i do think i could get $30000 yes
That sounds realistic...just consider 8 acclaim games would be worth $5000 easily...

That's assuming that you're selling in one bulk lot which would be pretty stupid since it seriously limits the potential buyers - like anything else, the maximum return would be had by breaking it down and selling piece by piece.
Without sitting down and working out a rough total, I don't think $30K would be too far off the mark - there's a heck of a lot of pricy JP MD games ;)

First of all, awsome collection. There is no doubt in my mind that your collection is impressive and valuable, but remember...collectors are cheap bastards always looking for a good deal. What something is worth and what you can sell a collection for are two different things.

I do have Tetris on MD,but NOT the famous $4000 one...and it is NOT an official title..just go to sega official website, they DO list all official releases, and i do have them all...plus some other ones like Dynamite Headdy or Gunstar Heroes samples, Tekken VS Virtua Fighter, Divine Sealing,Tetris...
I do know this $4000 tetris, but since i have the EXACT SAME GAME for 50 times less, and it is NOT officially recognized by Sega on their official list ( you can check Daigirin, sega.jp, or Megadrive Taizen books )...i will not spend $4000-7000 for "that".
My collection is indeed COMPLETE,though.
I'll post pics on "room of doom"section...
As told earlier,i do have too other collections...but i don't know if ppl here is more interested in SFC than MD,PC engine,etc..
Yes,i played MANY of them, but not all of them
I loved Thunder Force 3,Phantasy Star 2,Kujakuoh 2 or Super Shinobi, my very first MD Games back in 1990 when i was 9 :)
Then i got DJ Boy or Moonwalker,Strider,Shadow Dancer,Hokuto no Ken..i love games i played in my childhood, even if they're not the "best" ones..i mean many consider Thor to be a great game, but when it was out i moved out to PC Engine CD and SFc,so i didn't consider that one to be a "great"one..
I loved Verytex, and Verytex music...Elemental Master, Shining Force 1&2, Vampire Killer, Contra Hard corps...i surely miss a lot of them!
Rockman Mega World,Monster World 3&4...

I haven't seen any students who could buy so much PRICY (sealed, rare and such) stuff in hundreds from ebay and what is more - japan auctions. This is impossible. It is only possible if you do not need to think about money and buy and buy tonns all the time.

I don't think so. Videogame collecting is a cheap hobby; I could pick up a 20 hr. a week job in Boston at $12/hr any day of the week, which would give me almost 1000/month to spend on games (at the cost of less leisure time). It's not as hard to make money as you think, student or not.

maybe it's cheap if you buy loose carts and used US games from ebay or local stores. but Adol bought more then 1500 CIB and sealed games from japan in 4 years! that's amazing!
i want to tel that i do not envy Adol. but i'm very impressed.

well, last time i was in france (way back in '96), i was able to hit a few import shops while just wandering around sightseeing. i remember 3 or 4 around paris and later on when we went south to quimper by TGV, there was a neat little shop called dock games behind a huge church- i ended up buying a couple of master system games i hadn't seen until then.

Is Moonwalker quite rare or valuable?
Not at all,it was just the last shelf, and alphabetically ( in japanese ) Moonwalker is just before Maximum Carnage...
I couldn't get a good pic with all games of the last shelf,so i made two pics, and for the 2nd one i put the games in that position..
