After I bought astro boy on ps2 for $5, I got it home, opened it and noticed the case was a little different and had a locking device on the right side of the case, it was opened but I wanted it out so I played around with it, in turn locking it again preventing me from closing the case.
Anyone get one of these cases? I have no idea if this thing can be removed or how to put it back into unlock, any ideas?

... sounds like you bought from a real reputable seller.
Have any friends who work at a store?

nope, I just found it weird that this one game was so secured, is it by sega or bestbuy?

i don't think your looking at the game case
i think your looking at the security packaging of bestbuy
they should have taken it off for you when you purchased it - go back and ask them to take it off - and be sure to have your recipt with you so they dont cry foul on you
i have never seen any game have what you describe
the only other thing i can think of is that the game is not in its original case and has one of those DVD cases with the locking tabs - but id only expect that from a game purchased at a video store or a used game dealer

It's the retailer's option to use a security device. If you could find someone understanding who works at a store that sells DVD items, they might take it off for you. The hard part would be getting someone to believe you didn't steal it LOL.

Whoop! I thought we were talking eBay.... I got my topics crossed.

I think I will just put it in another case, thing is it wasnt that it wasnt taken off right, this security thing is underneath the plastic wrap and INSIDE the case itself (and the case is made especialy to fit this thing). Oh well, the game was only $5...

I got one a long time ago on a PS1 game, and I figured out how to get it off quite easily... just start messing with it, and you'll get it off.

the copy of burn out 3 I bought at target this week had that type of case. Funny the first thig I did was play with the lock thing also. Has a picture of a red lock in locked pos when looking at it from the side Green unlocked picture when unlocked. If same type of case which I think it is you can grab that piece of plastic long skinny piece with pics on it and pull it out off the case completly. Then snap it back in in the unlocked position. Or you will notice 2 little metal buttons connect to 2 plastic tabs on each end of it, you can press both of those in at same time and slide it to unlock. Yanking it out and putting it back is easier though.
