I have not seen another copy of this for a very long time and that last one sold for well over $500.00.

No joke here. The seller is completely serious, and he has a right to be. That game is VERY RARE in sealed condition! I don't know about it selling for $500+, but it does sell for a huge amount of cash. I have seen greatest hits versions sell for a great deal actually, and they aren't rare at all.
The most recent greatest hits sold for $41 10 days ago. The fact that Super Mario Kart became a greatest hits implies that there must have been a lot of copies sold of the original - hence not that rare, sealed or not.

The 41 dollar auction is a greatest hits version, not original.
Theses original Mario Kart shrinks (non-GH) have hit up to 500 on ebay in the past, but in no way should is it valued that high.
Yes I said the greatest hits not the original.
The more people stupid enough to pay that much for the original, the less people that will have money to compete with me on auctions I care about.

$500...LOL
Thats just a crock and waste of money. Put it on the shelf and let it collect dust. There goes my $500. All I can do is look at it. :(

While i agree with you, some people out there like to spend huge amounts on sealed games just to look at them :P (not me though, but it makes me wonder if i could afford to, would i be buying sealed... @_@ )
