My goodness. Have they really become that valuable? I have a sealed Japanese CT. Wonder how much it's worth.

The japanese CT isnt worth that much, even if its mint and complete. Dont know about sealed tho.. Didnt know that SFC games were sealed :)

SFC games were never sealed? So I take it I was duped?

not sure about SFC games being sealed when new, but Japanese version of Chrono Trigger did not come with all the maps the US version did, that might explain part of the difference in value... would be interesting to also know the print numbers for the JAP SFC vs. US SNES...

but it all probably comes down to just the huge demand that still exists for the US version and this results in the higher price.

Nobody is going to bid on this.. I have been looking at sealed CT's for about 6 months now and they go for about $250 mint and sealed.

First bid is for what?? $350 (and the reserve isnt met) and the buy it now is $800.. this guys aiming WAY too high.

There was a discussion about this long time ago. Some sell "sealed" copies that have been opened on the side just to check if the game was there. I havnt seen a 100% sealed copy of CT for $250

You do realize don't you that the $350 that it's up to now is the result of 14 bids?

sigh.. I hate to be the one to say it, but that copy does not look legit to me. I would never bid on that copy - there's nothing wrong with the price, it's cheap even but it's also fake IMO

looks real to me, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion most certainly :)

Looks pretty good, I'm guessing you suspect something's wrong because of the uneven seal on the top of the box?? The corners look fine, the top is the only thing that could be a concern, I guess.

that and the fact that the top edge seam appears to be too tight to the plastic. I could be biased though as it looks just like a resealed chrono I have at home that somebody sent me

I actually know the winning bidder of this, he's a friend of mine. He's not a sealed games collector or anything, Chrono Trigger is just his favorite SNES game. He comes from a pretty well-off family and he wanted something special for his birthday. He had to sell off a bunch of other cool gaming stuff he has to afford that price, though. :(
