Cocaine has nothing on this white powder!

Has anybody else gotten this? I only get it on official Nintendo N64 controllers. its a white powder that develops from using the analog stick too much. All of my friends have gotten this. What the hell is it??

My guess is it's the plastic getting worn off the stick...

It is the slow and inevitable disintegration of the tracking groove of your analog stick. It is unstoppable, and irrepairable, short of replacing the entire analog assembly.

Plastic stick on plastic rails - short lifespan (N64)
Steel stick on steel rails - long lifespan (PS1-2)

oh so thats why some controller sticks go REALLY far, and move on their own if you roll the controller around slowly.

yea, i've gone through more n64 controllers than any other system, those damn joysticks are just too easy to wear out. the superpad (i think thats the name) has a nice joystick on it though, it doesn't wear out very easy.

i rented that on my birthday party 3 years ago, and everybody went home with bloody palms and bandaids taped across them.
