After months and months and months of thought, I have finally payed off my bills and got enough money saved up to start my OFFICIAL collection! I have decided to go to MY roots and start collecting sealed/complete NES games. I have made about 20 bids on ebay today alone and look forward to seeing what happens and starting my first WTB list!

I actually sold my ps2 and all my games in order to fund my first batch of games and I cant wait to get my hands on some of my old favs.

At least you have your priorities straight. Bills when they catch up to you can really bring you down. Good job and good luck!

guess that beats starting a collection with bills, then having to sell the collection to pay said bills. congrats :)

Were you an Off-Topic kinda guy prior to this big annoucement, Felix?

Where does your collection stand at the moment in terms of numbers?

EDITED because my post was WAY too big.

I have never collected console games before. I have spent some time collecting classic sealed pc games (pentium era) but have lost interest. There is a market out there for pc wares but its not as mainstream as collecting cosole games.

YES I was an off topic junkie for a while but I have wondered into the video games section a few times.

I wanted to start collecting something new.. something that really meant something to me and I think I have found it with NES/SNES games. I want my collection to be something great to look at so I have decided to go with factory sealed games (this will also limit the amount I can spend, so I dont buy 100s of loose games in bulk and end up blowing my entire paycheck). I can limit myself to 1 or 2 games a paycheck and also have a good cap on how much I spend, seeing that I can afford about $50-100 a paycheck. Also after being here for a couple of months, I have made a few good friends and have really had fun in this community. There is a lot of support here and always a friendly person around to help out when needed. This place is ideal for starting my ideal collection.

ADDED: About 10 years ago, I sold my nes and all of my games to my cousin for $30. I think he still has it tucked away in a box somewhere and I will gladly buy it back from him for $50 (if he doesnt just give it to me). This will start me off with an nes system, 2 controllers, a lightgun and about 30 loose games.

Thanks for the reply, Felix. It is nice to know your background a little more!

Goodluck with your new style of collecting - I hope you enjoy yourself!

If you ever want to rid yourself of those PC games... ;)
