well, fox is releasing napolean dynamite, predator, dodgeball, and two other umd's next month, and anchor bay has evil dead and five other movies coming mid-july, so things are starting to get slightly more interesting. i'm no huge fan of the format, but i can see a need for it to those who HAVE to have some form of entertainment with them all the time...

remember, these aren't for folks who own the dvd versions already. they're mainly for those folks who like to look cool while traveling (and it sure as hell beats sitting on the subway or bus with a laptop or portable dvd player blasting away- for some reason i keep seeing people with these looking like complete idiots when i'm out and about)

Well, the acronym does start with the word UNIVERSAL. Unless they're somehow referencing the picture studio, it would feel really awkward to call something universal that only worked with one piece of hardware.
