Anybody got a totally complete, boxed 32X system?
What exactly came in the box? I'm talking which cables, metal plates, instruction manuals, quick start guides, games, demos, pamphlets, etc?
Did it come with a Genesis 2 to Genesis 1 adapter?

yes....as well as an adapter to go over the pins where the sega cd would be if you didnt have a sega cd...this adapter would go there in place of the normal piece of red plastic

The first one I got came with a broken 32X. LOL It was a closeout at the Wiz, 10 bucks. It came with the following:
32X unit
Extension Unit (for the Genesis expansion slot)
Electromagnetic Shield Plates
Spacer
Conversion Cable (what you asked about)
Connector Cable
A/V Cable
AC Adaptor
Doom cartridge (Loose)
32X Instruction manual
Hook up instructions
a "Read Carefully" page (Don't use the Power base Converter! :P )
a "Using a Genesis not connected with a Sega CD" page
2 Sega Visions subscription cards
A small ad for 6 Button arcade pad/power strip
6 "Get $10 Back!" coupons for the following games: Virtua Racing Deluxe, Stellar Assault, Metal Head, Star Wars Arcade, Doom, and 36 Great Holes. All expired between Jan-Mar 1995.
How's that for thorough? ;)
EDIT: I got mine on May 5, 1997. :D

Well, i got about everything that fergojisan listed, Except for Doom.
Some 32x Systems came with doom, others with Star wars arcade.
Some had no game at all.
And the connector for the contacts on the genesis did not come with mine.

They also had a package with the game virtua fighter, the one I have at least did.
i got it new a few weeks after it came out in 94. Came with system, hookups, stuff for the genny 1 and 2, coupons, and instructions. I remember at the end of summer 94 catching the 32X infomercial. Anybody have a link to that?

An overhyped piece of shit?
Just kidding there. Although the 32X's hardware specs were certainly overhyped, the add-on could've been a hit had the games been more plentiful and of higher quality. Games, as you must know, are what make the system rather than its hardware.

Perhaps people who had problems with the system on early model genesis systems sent in their 32x to sega and got a newer model 32x- With This adapter?
