Everquest free server hack - Winter's Roar

The first quality role-playing free Everquest server I've found. Usually 200-500 people only. Good use for that old EQ game you have in a new world using your fav. EQ classes. This is the first free EQ hack server where cheating isn't rampant that I have found.

Let me know if anyone wants to jump in, it doesn't cost anything. You must have expantions up to Shadows of Luclin.

The cheating/hacking aspect has been the plague of the Everquest Emulation community. With the big problem being that the program itself has so many hidden backdoors and ways for "people in the know" (A surprisingly large amount) to log on and pretty much do what they want. Assorted other issues of GM's having player characters, guild affiliations, and setting things up for their "pals" have also made many of the servers pointless. Wintersroar was always one of the fairer ones however.

I used to run a free PvP Oriented Everquest Server myself with similar userbase numbers, until the costs involved outweighed the fun factor the design/coding team was having with it. Providing a lag-free server for 500+ people online at once, simply wasn't cheap :)
