Hey folks!
Just recently (thanks Dave!) came into a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga. Now I've been told over and over again that these are great games, but I really don't know much about them.
Is Saga a lot different from I & II?
Should I worry about playing them in order?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

not really, there isnt a ton of storyline in the first 2 games. though the second game actually came first in the PD timeline.
THe first 2 Dragoons arn't even mentiond in Saga, except for a cut sceen if I do recall. Other then that they are almost completly different.

There are no RPG elements in the first two games. The first two games are rail shooters. You know what happens when you go into combat in PDS? That basically makes up the entire gameplay of the first two (without the hit points of course)
First 2 are track style shooters, much like rez.
The third Saga is full free roaming 3d. Enemy battles are like those found in the boss battles of the first 2 games. In wich you postition were you wanna be and fire at will.

Don't forget the deep, deep storyline in Panzer Dragoon Mini for the Game Gear. You really have to play the Game Gear game to know what's going on in the Saturn games.

There is an interesting tie in if you get all the D-Units in PDS. Aside from that, there's not too much you'd be missing without the first two, except for two excellent rail shooters. Especially Zwei. It is one of the best Saturn games.
