I call all of my genesis systems "Jenny" and my atari "the sex stick machine". Game boy has turned into the "Play boy" And the dreamcast is "the pirate machine" I need to put a little skull and bones flag over top of the Sega sports logo, its ugly. Plus the name would stick better.

I call my Nintendo64 - "N64". Oh... wait... no, I don't use nicknames. I only use abbreviated names. The shorter, the better.

To my systems, no.
However, my iPod's name is Polgara. I used to have a Mac called Kryten and my current external HDD is called Romana. My new iMac's name is Belgarath, while my old iMac was called Spider.

most of my system nicknames shouldn't be printed here on a family oriented site LOL
Oddly the only time they have nicknames is when a game is kicking my butt...hmmmm :?

I always say "PlayStayShon" like the old commercials used to. I don't know if that's really a nickname or just a stupid thing I do. Probably the latter.
Sometimes I call my Xbox "big black" and my old NES is "Blinky". Oh, and I call my PS2 "Sexie Sue", but only when we're cuddling.
Cube for my Gamecube but who doesnt ?!

I've got a cute little pet name for my Xbox, but it uses 5 of the George Carlin words so I can't really say it. My Xbox is often on the frtiz and MS customer support is rather lacking.

Naming your consoles??? Should I call my XBox Charlie? Is Bobby a good name for my GC? How about Whitey for my Dreamcast? I don't think so! Giving names to your consoles...
It's not like its a car!

I call my PS2 a slut from time to time. The xbox is just My box, which for some reason my wife doesn't like the reference.

I call my GameCube a GameCub (people don't find that funny) and my SNES Superness! (all one word).

Sure, I abreviate the names. Hence, I have a Cube, a Box, and a 2. :)

One time I called my NES Nessie.
While I was asleep, it came back at me trying to strangle me with its power cord.
Today in the age of litigation and oversensitivity, it works differently. Once I called my GC Cubie. A week later I got a letter from an attorney threatening me with a sexual harrassment law suit. I settled out of court.

My MAME cab is officially named the "MAME Frame", which is a play on "mainframe". However more often than not it gets referred to as "The Golden Axe". This is what the machine was when I brought it home the first time and my son, who was 3 1/2 at the time, never really shook that name. Any time we're not at home and he sees an arcade game he likes he'll come and ask me if "we have it on the Golden Axe?" That's my boy.
My Vectrex and Virtual Boy do not have nicknames per se but I think of them as my "weird little babies" owing to their unique designs as game machines.
Sometimes I think of my powerful little Dreamcast as a "tiny god" but I try to avoid this line of thinking as it runs against my Christian beliefs.
Lastly I call my Colecovision "Joannie" for bizarre, personal and somewhat perverse reasons. It's a "Mrs. Robinson" sort of thing dating back to my high school days. That's more than you need to know.

My old PS1 is often referred to as "hunk of junk", "piece of crap", etc, because of it's problems with loading some games now. Sometimes they go, sometimes they don't. Shat.

This is one of those few situations where advertising has effected my brain. Actually, that's REALLY common in thise house as people here seem to have commercials memorized, but I normally am not into that. However there are some console examples I use a lot.
If I don't do it, someone else will, and the big one is "DREEEEEEAMCAST!" in the style of the Japanese commercials. Cube tends to get called "Cube-u" and i can't remember what it's from. I think it's some show my girlfriend watched, a Japanese pronunciation of cube, not sure. Genesisii are Gennies, ps2 is usually "goddamn thing", xbox gets called sexbox, the Genesis/SegaCD/32x combo is the Sega Cluster, computer is Supernaught2, and i'm sure there are other examples that are not coming to me offhand. I think we do the play-stay-shun thing Flack mentioned (in the rare case that we are talking about one) and probably also praystation.

I don't name my consoles, but they are all "she" and I try to sweet-talk them into working if they're on the blink. A real-life example from when my Magnavox Odyssey went on the fritz last weekend at OVGE:
PDF: "C'mon baby, don't do this to me now."
Mrs. PDF: "What am I supposed to be doing? How can I help?"
PDF: "Not you. Her."
Mrs. PDF: "Her who?"

Nope, never...outside of the various curses from time to time. Usually it's "PIECE OF S#@&"
Poor television...sometimes I've hit it with my fist, right in the glass...not too hard though! Caught in the crossfire LOL

Yes, 4 of my systems have nicknames. The X-box and PS1 both trade off what they are called because neither work. As such I call them either bums or lazy pigs. The Wonderswan I call my red headed step child as so far I only have 2 games for it (need more badly). The PS2 gets called the necasary evil because while I hate the system, most the games I want to play are for it.

My pc's have names too :)
My current one is "Soccer Mom"..
(systems current and past)
-PS2(slim): Bulimic Bulimic **In true Japanese form, I had to name my PS2 with a double name.. much like the gay system that the Japanese use to name their games double.. like DANCE DANCE or YORI YORI FUN FUN**
-NES:Timmy
-GB: Lil Timmy
-Genisis: Randell (I was 8 or 9.. I had one black friend and his name was Randell.. my genisis was black so I called it Randell.. sounds rude, but I was only like 8 and didnt know better lol).

I call my PS2 "PS Tsu" because well... it's a Japanese PS2. :P I occasionally call my brother-in-law's XBox a baby-killer. :) The Sony systems are often called "Piece of Shit". And we shorten a lot of system names. The NGPC is most always called "the Pocket", which gets confusing if we happen to be using the Game Boy Pocket recently since we call that the Pocket too. o_O Oh, and my original Game Boy which goes virtually unused is "the old brick". To be silly, sometimes we call the NES and SNES "Norftendo/Super Norftendo". I don't know how that one originated. O_o

I have a piece of tape with the names of my two Xboxes on it (Snake and Toast), so I know which is which when I network. Same for my computers (Itchy, Scratchy, and Poochy).
Otherwise, I just call it what it is.

I should name my NES "chick magnet" because when I was living on campus at university that little gray box attracted girls towards it a hell of a lot better than any cute puppy dog or kitten ever could! Protip: make sure to have a Tetris cart in plain view ;)
