Nintendo have done a good job so far with porting classic Snes games to the GBA, but I fear this era is almost to an end now the DS is on the scene and they are now doing ports of classic N64 titles...

But... - The GBA Micro is due to be released soon, so perhaps there is life in the old GBA still...

I really hope they don't do Snes ports for the DS. If anything, i'd like to see a few more N64 ports - Ie, Ocarina Of Time; Banjo Kazooie; Paper Mario Etc...

What games do you think Nintendo or other companies should / could upgrade to the GBA?

Personally, i'd like to see: Donkey Kong Country III - They've done the first two, now what about the third???
Super Metroid - Come on Nintendo, treat us to a third Metroid to play on the go...
Terranigma - Square, why ever not?
Chrono Trigger - Square, don't you see the potential here???
Secret Of Mana - Anyone see a trend here? Sword Of Mana was great, so why not give us the sequel?
Final Fantasy VI - Square would make so much money out of releasing this, I swear!
Mario RPG - Ok, i'm not doing this Square thing on purpose, but this is one of the greatest Mario games ever!
Castlevania: Dracula's Kiss - One of the greatest of the Castlevania games

Sega seem to have the idea by releasing sequels to classic Mega Drive games

And i'm sure that there are a load of early PS1 games out there which could be easially ported to the GBA - Look what they did to Broken Sword for instance!

Cameltry/On the Ball. Preferably with tilt sensor. God that would be awesome.

I have a SNES, if I want to play SNES games I can do it without shelling 30.00 out to Nintendo again.

Hm.. isnt the first Metroid game for GBA simular to Super Metroid? I do own Super Metroid, but only tested it for 2 min. Played through both for GBA tho :)

Anyways.. I think I would like more Beatem Up games for GBA like Final Fight 2 and 3. Sunset Riders would also be cool.

Good lord is there any question? STARFOX!

Starfox 64 was sort of a dissapointment to me.. I'd imagine a spiffier version/sequel of the SNES style would make a dandy GBA game :)

(oh.. and PLEASE keep the original music). Ok I'm done. :D

Play through Super Metroid asap. One of the best games of all-time that imo any fan of 2D games needs to experience. And to answer your question, it's more open to exploration than Fusion was.

It's a shame Super Metroid hasn't been ported to the GBA, but at least we got a couple new 2-D Metroids.

Some more that would be good:

ActRaiser
Axelay
Claymates
Contra III
Demon's Crest (preferably with a battery save this time around)
Dino City (preferably w/battery save)
Jurassic Park (battery save a must)
Secret Of Evermore
Space Megaforce
Spanky's Quest (at least there's a Game Boy version... I ordered it from EB and I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I wonder how it holds up)
Spectre
Super Baseball 2020
Super Castlevania IV (preferably w/battery save)
Super Pinball: Behind The Mask
Wario's Woods

Wiseguy response #1:

What? I thought they'd already ported all the SNES games to the GBA!

Wiseguy response #2:

I have a SNES, if I want to play SNES games I can do it without shelling 30.00 out to Nintendo again.
Option 1: I have a kart and a friend named Mario! If I want to have a kart race with Mario I can do it without shelling out money for those silly electronic amusements!

Option 2: I'll bet the girls are disappointed when they find out that it's an SNES making that bulge in your pants.

Anyway, Space Megaforce.

Don't forget it has to work within the GBA's button limits.

That said, Chrono Trigger would be awesome.

None. I already paid for the games once. I'm not going to line the pockets of Nintendo execs for doing no work.

I don't really have many situations where I need to play games portably anyway. If I want to play a game, I have a tv at home that runs games just fine. If I'm out doing something... then... I'm out doing something.

Hey, I'll invite my friends out for coffee and then ignore them while I play Mario.

Hey, I'll play Metroid while I'm driving to work instead of watching the road.

Hey, I'll fire up Tetris instead of taking notes for my next exam.

I can't think of any commonplace situations where portable systems are necessary for adults. So if I have the option of playing on either a tiny screen, or a big screen, I'll take the big screen every time. The only reason I even have a GBA is for the GBA-only titles.

Re-re-re-releases of old games that don't exactly push the limits of today's hardware are just another way for lazy developers to gouge more money out of their loyal followers with minimal labor involved.

My cock is really small and doesn't bulge unless I'm pitching a tent.

That is all, carry on.

here's are tons of commonplace situations fr portable gaming. I'm not in a big enough city myself, but #1 has to be train/subway. Waiting rooms are up there too.

Waiting room, bathroom, public transportation, bed, slow day at work, waiting for food, waiting for company, conversation piece at bars*...I find plenty of time for my GBA.

*True story, a really attractive girl approached me at a bar the other day. I didn't remember her initially, but she remembered me because I guess during one particular drunken night, we ended up playing Zelda 3 together.

Not an SNES game per say, but I would love to see the 2 Super Famicom Dragon Quests translated and put on the GBA. Man would that make my day!

Great story!

I used to think "how could I find time to use a portable?!" and yet I'm finding myself plugging in the Konami GB Collection from time to time.

I'd love to see Actrasier and Ogre Battle. I play more GBA than any other system. I work at home so the GBA fills in the gaps in my day quite nicely. Plus I would never go shopping with the wife without it. Cloth stores without a GBA = mindnumbing insanity. I've also been putting in some NGage time for similar reasons.

Better yet, how about they finish up Star Fox 2 and finally release it to the public? :)

I´d love to see Actraiser on Gba. With longer and more complex simulation scenes, and more action scenes too.

It´d be a great way to spend time while traveling!

The age of the GBA is over.

I'd like to see some officially untranslated old gems go on the DS though.

Games like Bahamut Lagoon, Front Mission 1, 7th Saga 2, things like that. That'd be pretty nice, but very unlikely.

@digitalspace: Contra III is on GBA already, called "Contra Advance"...new levels added and it's viciously harder then the original

That is a cool story. But as for the other situations, they don't really apply much to me. I'm not in waiting rooms very often. I usually cruise the internet during work downtime, and I play my "big screen" games in bed, because that's how I have my room set up. :)

But still, I guess it does work for some people. I stand corrected on adults not having much use for it. I guess I should just say *I* don't have much use for it.

That's much better. Besides, how do we know that you're really an adult? ;)

Oooo...I second that! It's surprising they haven't done it yet; there's a rabid market for 'em.

Also, Actraiser, Super Punch-Out and the Square RPGs would be great on the go.
