Long story short...

My late grandfather used to collect lots of stuff. I mean LOTS of stuff. And cataloged a ton of things where he kept lying around in the basement of his home. Well, my grandmother and 2 aunts are building a house and plan to move in the fall. They wanted to get rid of a bunch of my grandfather's stuff, as they have no use for it. I recommended tossing the stuff on eBay so they could at least make a little money off of his life's work of collecting random things. So... I went up tonight, as it was my grandmother's 80th birthday, and started looking around the things in the basement. And I was shocked to find this totally cool videogame system from the 70s. 1975 to be exact. It's called the "Unisonic Tournament 2000" game system. And it's got 6 totally wicked sweet games built in, like Pong... and some other Pong-like game. As well as games you can shoot at. And the best says that it hooks up to any "Standard TV"... so it should fit right in with my component cable inputs.

Regardless... this is what the system looks like...

I know I can't be the ONLY person with one. Does anyone else have one of these, and does anyone know how rare it is, or otherwise what the value of it is?

I found one of those at the swap meet about a year ago--it's a nice lookin' Pong clone, isn't it? :D

It seems like I read about someone else on these boards coming across one in the last couple of months.

Unfortunately, it's not particularly rare:

But it stands out from other Pong clones and makes a nice addition to a collection!

I think this is the link wufners was pointing you to:

If you have the Lafayette-manufactured Tournament 2000 it's much more "rare".

Even if it's fairly common, it's still cool. 8-)

Oh well. I'm not planning to sell it or anything... just curious about where it stood in the world. Thanks for the info.

I called it Pookie because I wanted people to actually read it.
