... and for a pretty decent price considering this item sometimes go for over $300.

PAC N1 for Laseractive system :

Plus I have dealt with Lucas a few times before so I know the thing is in great condition as are most of his items.

... I am now going to have to start a PC Engine collection again (first one was sold with my GT in 1998, second one was sold last year with my LT...)

Been eyeing the Laseractive for awhile now, been hesitant to put down the money on it. Is there any advantage to having this Pac or the N10 vs. a Turbo Duo, or a Duo-R or any other variation? Just curious, other than the cool factor and collectiability does it have any advantages???

I think the only advantage is being able to play the Laseractive laserdisc games. You can't play those on any other console. I just sold my Laseractive with the Genesis module on Ebay for $510. I was pleasantly surprised.

Damn ! that's a serious price, unless it was boxed and mint that is. I paid mine somewhere around $150 with the Sega PAC and a game.

Anyway, there is not really any advantage in having the PAC-N1 or N10 vs. a Duo-r or RX - it is just a question of space and aesthetics.
The only "advantage" I see in the PAC is that Hu-card are zome dependant (US or JP) but it will play all CD based games.

The Laseractive in itself is an awesome machine if you like Laserdiscs, Sega Genesis/CD games and NEC PC-Engine and FMV games... and want all of these in one nice looking machine that fits perfectly in a hi-fi environment.

Aren't all PCEngineCD / TurboCD / PCEngineDuo / TurboDuo / PCEngineDUO-R / PCEngineDUO-RX CD games region-free? They all seem to play fine in my US TurboDuo (except ACD games of course, since I don't have an Arcade card).
