This is a SNES Game called Run Saber. The story behind it kind of made me think of that one boss in the picture from Final Fantasy 3 (NA) that changes into a chick. Added pics below.

Yeah...It was auctioned off on ebay a while back if I remember correctly...The guy who sold it made the new owner sign a 'contract' never to dump it.

yep, Gizmo is right, it was on ebay like a week ago... that contract is not legal though as it is against the ebay rules, the buyer can just rip it apar after signing LOL

Figured. Hopefully it will get dumped.

Regardless, why does the original seller care? Its not like he owns it anymore and it will be worth any less...Does he feel compelled not to let a Proto slip out to the public?

hydr0x is exactly right... a contract like that is not legal, although it's not exactly because of eBay rules.

One, unless the seller is the original company who produced the game (not the programmer), they can make no such contract legal. The property held is not their intellictual property, and they can make no legal claim to it.

Sadly, like i said earlier, in most cases, not even the original programmer can make such a request either, since their work was property of whoever they were working for at the time. Unless they were never paid for their work... but that's another story altogether...

The item is still on eBay, idiots.

And stop chasing after petty things like this.
It's nothing more than the Japanese version with the American script. The Whirlpool (http://donut.parodius.com) has an English patch for the Japanese version that reflects the same offerings of this piece of shit.

Even if the contract WAS legally binding, there wouldn't be anything stopping the guy from selling the game and then having them dump it. Even better if the buyer conveniently sells it back for the same amount.
