Today, while i was applying for a job at a second hand games dealer, i found the nes shelf :) from it, i bought three games, Faxanadu (AU$4.95), Gradius (AU$3.95), and an odd one: Raid 2020 (AU$2).

The Raid 2020 cart tells you it's unlicensed at first glance, it's black, and has a cart slot in the top. the slot is manufactured by a company called "Main Super" which goes on to say it's made in hong kong. yay.

ok, now heres where things suprised me. The cart slot is there, because the cart itself contains no lockout chip at all. so in an unmodified nes, youll get the flashing power light no matter what region. When you plug another game into the cart slot at the top, it adopts the lockout from that cart as its own, and so becomes that region cart.

playing on my yobo famiclone, it requires nothing be plugged into the top, plugged into my us nes, it needs a us game plugged in. i have not yet tested it in a pal console, but i am assuming it needs a pal game plugged in.

this takes it for most poor attempt at getting nintendos approval on making a game.
