I watched an art film called Koyaanisqatsi, and there was a sequence where kids were playing Ms. Pac-Man, Q-Bert, and some racecar game. I found this part of the film dull since I'm way too familiar with this scene, so a question comes to mind: "Is it boring to watch others play videogames?"

In my humble opinion, it does since games are about interaction. Simply watching the visuals for quite a while isn't that fun (even in film). Any thoughts?

Barring some (very) rare instances, yes. I don't see the entertainment in wathcing others play.

Some games are fun to watch other people play, like the Metal Gear Solid series because it's just like a big movie, but others are boring as hell.
I'm mainly thinking about RTS- or simulation games.

Yes. I LOVE watching other people play games.. but pretty much only if they're good. As it's often said, watching a good player play Robotron or Defender is a thing of beauty. :D

Yeah depends entirely on the game. I really like watching others (especially experienced people) play old NES games.

But I've watched a lot of different people play a lot of different types of games, and to me it never gets boring, I guess I just like to see how othr people accomplish the obstacles.

Watching other people play games always bores me to death. Except for the first Silent Hill. I never played it but I watched one of my friends play it a lot. Creepy.

I enjoy playing and watching others. Usually watching others I talk and try to offer advice, etc. Besides sometimes seeing other's joy in playing videogames, yours or theirs, is as rewarding as your own joy playing video games.

Depends on the game and the situation. I generally enjoy playing more than watching tho.
