yeah Baten Kaitos is going to be a hot one on that list. I got it about a month ago for $30 and have been playing it off and on (i do that with RPGs) ever since. Great game (and i'm not much of an RPG fan) I hope some people who have been holding out on it pick it up with this sale.

I think i might sit this sale out i'm sorry but cheap games isn't worth dealing with the maniacs over at CAG. I'm not saying everyone over at CAG is going to go there with a list and buy everything on it to dump on Ebay 1 week later but my last CC experience made me want to not go ever again. These people are not normal they followed a little kid around who had three games in his hand (who also had no idea that the games he was holding were $5) asking him if he was going to buy them. I had to burst the CAG bubble and say "you should get those games, there great and at $5 a game you can't beat that" the kid was surprised to find out he would only be paying $15 for his games the CAGer looked like the world had just ended. All in all i would rather pay full price than deal with those maniacs again.

Small update: I just got word on CAG (thanks demomanTNA) that this sale will be in the CC ads the week of July 3rd and July 10th. I wouldn't expect to see a list of games in the ads, though.

I would however expect a bunch of people in the store with lists taking games from little kids

Yeah, having dealt with several CAGs personally, they fall into two distinct groups:

- Genuinely nice guys who are there to pick up a few games for themselves and maybe one a friend wanted. These guys are great, I don't mind them one bit, in fact I've befriended one regular. The same guy was at the sale last year and had the last copy of Rez, I mentioned "oh yeah, I was thinking of picking that up" and he hands it to me, "oh, you can have it." In the end I didn't take it, but that was damn cool of him to offer.

- Greedy list-having pricks there to pick up anything they think they can make a few dollars on with ebay. These guys come in with lists snatching up several copies of the highly-sought titles to hawk online for profit. Generally, and this is completely serious, the hygeine on these people is poor. They're not afraid to ask you to look up every title on the list they want, even when you tell them you've already checked and it's out of stock. Very bothersome folks.


- Bonus group: I noticed this during the last sale, we had some folks from the local game shop in there buying games to resell. Kind of torn on that one, it's kind of being an asshole to pick up multiple copies of the same thing, but on the other hand they've always treated me well and have some of the best prices in town usually.

Well it seems like the only way to get the games you want from this sale is to buy them early and price match. I picked up Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Baten Kaitos. I do not want to abuse a system, I picked up just one copy of each game for me to play.

I might try to get True Crime: Streets of L.A. for the gamecube on the sale day.

Nanobreaker was nowhere to be found, unfortunately.

Funny, I saw about seven or eight of them, almost got one, but decided to pass after recalling several lousy reviews of the game.

I was less excited about spending 10 bucks this year than 5 bucks last year, but I did want to pick up three games: Ridge Racer DS, Thief XBox, and Samurai Warriors PS2. None were there.

Went to my local CC store and arrived there promptly at 2 minutes to 10am.

As soon as the doors opened, I made a beeline straight to the games area, where a nice young lady was putting stacks of games into one of those metal 'cage' bins.

She told me that most of the $9.99 games were in there, but some had been left on the shelf.

She also told me that this particular store would be limiting ALL of the $9.99 game purchases to 3 items per person, per visit, but I still managed to sweet talk my way (okay, so I had some help; I had someone stand with me) into buying the following:

I went this morning and anticipated getting one or two games on my want list. To my suprise, I found EVERYTHING except Nanobreaker and Ridge Racer DS (they only had one RR, someone beat me to it).

Among others: Baten Kaitos, Tournament Tactics, and Transformers were NOT in their specified $9.99 bins, but still on the shelves.

Metal Arms and Amplitude were incorrectly placed in a seperate older discontinued bin.

When I first heard about this, I was liek all OMGLOL at the prospect of getting Ridge Racer DS on the cheap. Then I got to thinking about it, and the only reason I wanted it was because it was a cheap DS game. I already knew it was a shitty port of the shitty port on the N64, and I didn't much like the shitty port on the N64. So I decided not to jump into the belly of the beast, er, Circuit City and get the game. I'll save my money for something better.

And I didn't feel like getting anything else on that list either.

I should stop being so damn lazy and get Silent Hill for the PSX. It intrigues me.

I was at the CC on Bluemound Road. I got some games on my list, surprisingly. Nascar Thunder 2004 for the Xbox would have been nice too, and Amplitude, well, and Amped 2...but then, it was a decent sale overall.

I have to look at another CC tomorrow for the Rainbow Six 3 headset version though and some other games :)

A year ago I bought 68 games, now 8. I have to say, though, that I got a lot of games on this years list already for ten dollars or even cheaper in the last couple of months from other places.

Hit Circuit City Monday morning, one day late. They still had two big bins full of games. Nearly all of the PS2 and XBox games were still in stock for the price, but the bins were nearly wiped clean of Gamecube and GBA games. :\

The only gamecube game left was a Dragonball Z game, with about five copies there. Too bad, since I was hoping to grab Megaman or Warrior Within.

I did grab an extra copy of Amplitude that wandered into the bin. I saw lots of Nanobreaker left... if I'm back in the area later this week, I'll try to grab a copy for anyone here who missed it.

On a sort of off-topic note: they had a bin of $4.99 dvds near the video games, and there must have been ten copies of Dog Day Afternoon there. Certainly a great movie, and a dvd more than worth your $5 if anyone hasn't seen it. Just a heads-up.

My local CC had many of the games on the list, but I had to search the shelves for them. They put them on the shelves one behind the other in no special order. They also don't have anything on the games to let you know they are one sale. Their add said selected games on sale for $9.99 but there was no list or special bin for those games. Their lack of letting the average customer know what is on sale worked in my favor. I didn't go until Monday the 4th and they still had the games I was looking for. The add also said limit 3, but they let me buy 4.

Well, I went to my local Circuit City.

There was a scary pimp thug looking dude and his woman ahead of me, sifting through the bin. It wasn't what I expected - I was thinking it'd be a shelf of games or something, instead all the $9.99 ones were thrown into a giant bin. Very clearance-style.


Anyway, so I got there and rooted through, and in the end it was a choice between Destruction Derby: Arenas, NBA JAM, and XIII. Then I stepped back and thought to myself, "you know, self, when life gives you a choice between Destruction Derby: Arenas, NBA JAM, and XIII, you gotta DO something about it. You've gotta be PROACTIVE".

So I marched right out of the store and up the street to the thrift store, where I drooled over a copy of The Mr. T Game. Its price was also $9.99.

But then life gave me a choice between Mr. T and the MAD Magazine Game, and I only had $11 on me, so I ended up going home and sulking it out to Rez, the game that will suck your moods away.




Something tells me that the Mr. T game would have been far more worthwhile than either/any of the PS2 games. And I don't have anyone to board game with!
