Is it only me or does anyone else go to Best Buy to look for Free stuff? They seem to often having game related stuff for free or near free $0.01.
Today I got the following for free:
Forza Motor Sports Demo for XBox with a copy of the XBOX Live Arcade (Ms PAC-MAN) :)
Doom 3 Weapons of Doom Guide DVD.
Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack Collectable Magnet.

I literally pick up free guides from there every weekend. Sometimes they charge me 0.01 for them, sometimes they don't even bother to ring me up.

How do you know which ones are discounted? I can't imagine that you bring dozens of games and guides to the register and have them price check each one.

Earlier this month, I got guides for Resident Evil 4 and Need For Speed Underground 2 for a penny each. Someone usually posts a list on CheapAssGamer.
Also, Circuit City occasionally clears out PS2 Jampacks for a penny, and if I'm in the store looking for something else and there's a penny Jampack in stock, I'll get one just for the hell of it.

Nope, never. The only best buy within 30 minutes of me has every employee in the building scour the place for any decent deals, they never even put the stuff on the shelves (seriously).

Sometimes, yes, I do take guides up to the counter to be scanned. But I usually know which ones are 0.01 by reading the list over at CAG. So I usually just grab a handful and if one happens to ring up at normal price I just tell the cashier I don't want it. No big deal.
Also, at one of the best buys near me, they actually place 0.01 stickers on the clearance items. Makes it nice and easy. LOL

best deal i ever got for 1 cent items is when a kaybeee toys had force feedback rumble packs. i bought like 15 of them basicaly for free :) they said to me they think im gonna sell em on ebay or something, but when it comes to a gamer and free stuff, it never seems to pass me by.
