So I picked up a few games for my ST-V setup that I thought were US Region for my seemingly US region cabinet: Columns 97' and Puyo Puyo Sun.

The carts look exactly the same as my (I think) US release titles.

Here's the odd part. My Virtual Fighter Kids cart says "JAP" on it in marker. I assume someone who knew what they were doing put it there. This cart works fine.

So I guess I have two questions.

1) What is the effective and definitve way to tell if I have a US or Japanese BIOS? All menus are in English. The splash screen is in English.

2) Regardless of the situation, it seems as though I have two games I can't play. Is there any way to dual BIOS the board?

Thanks in advance.

Dual BIOS:

Also, Puyo Puyo Sun will only work with a Japanese BIOS. Columns 97 will work with all BIOS's except USA. Fun, huh? In general, I find that having a JP BIOS is all you really need for the ST-V, while having the US is kind of a stinker.

Excellent, that's exactly the info I needed. Thank you for the link!

I'm going to give this a bump as I really need to dual BIOS my board.

I've emailed these guys 3 times, without a response:

http://www.vsa-ag.ch/Services/STVDual/STVDual_e.htm

Everything I've read says these are the guys to talk to for getting a dual bios. Does anyone know if they still offer this service at all? Alternatively, does anyone else have a secondary provider that still does them? Or, if anyone has EPROM writing equipment, and could put one together for me, I'd be willing to pay for parts plus a nice piece for the effort.

Thanks for any assistance.

a friend of mine programs stv dual bios and sells them fairly cheaply from what i remember, if you want details shoot me a pm :)

BTW, the best combo is JAP/EURO bios's, as the only game that NEEDS a us bios is a *really* crappy baseball game :)

But I happen to have that Baseball Game :)

Plus, I like Die Hard Arcade more than Dynamite Deka (the name).

PM's on it's way! Thanks!
