This is all I could find on Wifi:
Following on from its E3 announcement about creating a worldwide wireless network, Nintendo has said that it will set up 1000 WiFi hotspots in Japan by the end of 2005, where owners of its DS portable-game machines can play games online free.
The company is planning a similar service for overseas markets, aiming to expand sales of the DS and protect its position in the handheld-game console industry from Sony, which has launched the PlayStation Portable.
Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata says 25 overseas and Japanese software companies have indicated interest in developing games that are compatible with WiFi, a widely adopted standard for short-range wireless networks.
WiFi connections are used by consumers and business travellers in airports and coffee shops to access the internet.
Nintendo plans to launch two compatible games – Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS – by the end of the year.
Nintendo says the hotspots will be found in department and toy stores, such as Toys R Us- Japan, where its consoles and games are sold. Nintendo expects to more than double sales of its DS to 12.4 million units in the year to next March.
Software sales for DS are expected to more than triple to 35 million units.

I heard September, but this report I'm reading right now (reply before me) Sounds more legit.
I heard there will be a small device you can hook up to any USB port of your Labtop or PC...and it'll connect that way for the internet wifi features
thats good to know. That was gonna be my next question. The How.

You can be sure that it will coincide with the launch of Animal Crossing DS - so let's hope they don't delay that game!

Mario Kart DS will have Wi-Fi too...I'm very excited about it. But, I want to know if Nintendo will make a voice chat headset because there is a headset jack next to the headphone jack on the DS, so that could be a good sign 8-) Trash talking people after I kick their @$$ in battle mode will be a blast LOL

There was a demo at E3 this year with the DS which used the microphone like that for chatting via DS. It was just chatting and not a game at the same time (I beleive). I only read about this.
