Yeah, so there's not much info besides a simple little advertising poster, but at least it's something new that we can argue/bitch about.

Cool yet very vague advertisement. This is about 9 months earlier than I thought it was supposed to come out.

I like it a lot as well. I'm not sure what the symbol(s) at the bottom are...at least at first glance.

Unfortunately, it also seems a bit too simple. It screams 'fake' to me, as much as I wish that weren't true.

Those are the lights from the Revolution box that's been shown, which leads me to believe it's a fake ad. The "system" that was shown at E3 is likely not the final design for the console.

After reading it again, the "unconfirmed source in marketing" angle more or less guarantees it isn't for real. For that matter, has a company ever made a 'teaser ad' for a system like this, anyway?

ourcolony.net was a pretty huge teaser.

What about the PS3 teaser ads from this year's E3?

Yeah, I'm still kind of on the fence about whether or not this is totally legit, but I'm sure someone will figure it out for sure in the next few days. Heh.

My vote is fake-a-roonie. That won't stop me from printing out a bunch and plastering them on Xbox kiosks all over town. LOL

Has to be fake.

Nintendo would NOT release a system before they had a chance to show it off at E3. If it were really going to be ready by March, they would've given us a lot more sneak peakery this year.

Not necesssarily. With the 360 launching in November and the PS3 launching in March, Nintendo could well decide that it *has* to ship in the first quarter of '06, before Microsoft and Sony snatch up all the early adopters between them.

I want the Revolution sooooo bad...especially because of the Wi-Fi and the download service. ;)

Probably a fake. I mean, just look at that controller! It looks like a cross between an SNES controller, GameCube controller and the original huge XBOX controller.

Edit: Oh. That's a seperate 'news' piece. Nevermind. ^^;

sorry, but im going to agree with you.. As far as im concerned, a news source is only as good as ITS weakest source, which is probably some kid with too much time on his hands, posting up bogus pictures of a nintendo controller that he made in photoshop.

BTW: this is my number 500 post! woot!

Why does the big unveiling have to be at E3? What if they do a September Shoshinkai? Maybe that's why they showed a touch of it at this year's E3, so early, when they had no real info, because they know that by the next E3, the thing will be out already.

I hope for Nintendo's sake that ad's a fake. (Hey that rhymed. Heh.) It looks like someone's first Adobe Illustrator project.

The only press release to mention the Revolution is from E3, and is as follows:

Nintendo's next console turns the world of video games on its side: Due in 2006, the new console will be backward compatible with Nintendo GameCube™. The console also will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo® 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System® (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System® (NES). Players also can buy and add new levels and characters to games made specifically for the new console. The new console has 512 megabytes of on-board flash memory. A bay for an SD memory card will let players expand the internal flash memory.

The console's stylish look houses a single, self-loading media bay for both 12-centimeter optical discs for new games as well as Nintendo GameCube discs. It will have wireless controllers, two USB 2.0 ports and built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. A number of Wi-Fi-enabled games will be ready at launch, and the new console will build on – and add to – Nintendo's rich stable of star franchises. A new development architecture will accommodate both big-budget games as well as artistic, indie offerings designed to make sure that everyone from video game experts to newcomers find ways to share and enjoy the gaming experience.
