New Mortal Kombat Game Announced
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks has been announced for a September 2005 release date. The latest in the long line of Midway's Kombat games (which debuted in 1922) will take the series off on an action/adventure direction.
Strange... I didn't think video games were around in '22, let along Mortal Kombat!

Yes, video games were around in 1922 but then the great flood occurred, which wiped out the great gaming consoles of that time and forced the entire industry into the dark ages.
Years in the future, pioneers found the Dead C++ scrolls and once again, the mighty Pong lived once again.

It was a true live action game, like the chess game in "History of the World".

Once the depression hit, so did the first gaming crash. Thankfully, we had Ralph Baer to reinvent them.

My grandmother still has her Edisonboy. It's the size of a mini-fridge and has a turn crank, but it could play Mortal Kombat like you wouldn't believe.

I must note that Cryo's sexy avatar is the best one that I've seen on the boards. I'm not even going to try to find one for myself now. @_@

I wish they'd wipe out the video game industry today so we can start over again.

of course there were games, violent games, back in 1922. what do you think inspired hitler?
i'm feeling somewhat ashamed that i spent the nessecary 2-3 seconds looking for princess peach's nipple. it was probably drawn by a balding thirty year old man too.
1922 was a typo. They meant to type 1992, which is when the original arcade game came out. </Captain Obvious>

whats funny is the first time I ever saw Mortal Kombat coin op, I was trying to reserve a Death Of Superman Comic book. Which btw Superman is a piece of shit.
I was at a restaurant the other day and I saw a little kid peek out from behind a booth and then back again. I screamed "TOASTY!" and the kid and his parents looked at me like I was nuts.

Thank you for spoiling our fun.

nope. all photos from the movie "tetsuo: iron man". its a cyberpunk film done early on by the director who later shot "ichi the killer". the sequel "tetsuo 2: bodyhammer" is in color, and is not quite as vomit-inducing. my cowardly father ran out of the room while i was watching it.
