Do the game Pirates for NES excist in english PAL?
I bought the game from Germany a while ago, but it had ingame german text.
Did this game get released with english text in Europe?
Maybe in England or Australia, but that is PAL-A. What about PAL-B ?

Yes, an English version (-UKV) exists.
There's a pretty fine list of all UK NES releases here: http://simplynes.emucamp.com/raretylist/ukraritylist.txt

You probly modified your NES. A european NES (not counting UK) cant play PAL-A games that was released in UK and Australia. The first NES that was released here didnt have a lockout chip tho so they are universal. If you havnt modified your NES you might have one of these.
Thanks for confirming the PAL-A Pirates, but what about PAL-B ?

Concerning PAL-B, I'm sure there's only a German version.
Back in th days I've only seen this game for sale in the Neckermann (German company) catalogue.
To hydrox, test those PAL-A games on an unmodded NES, I'm pretty sure they won't work. Although it's strange that games that were published by Nintendo aren't labeled A or B.

heh ok, yeah, my NES is modded now (5 minutes of work), but it wasn't until a year or so ago, i always thought i played some of the AUstralian games i have before that, maybe i was wrong
well @jaja, just mod your snes, you just have to open it (standard screws), locate the lockout-chip and cut one pin, it's VERY easy

Hydrox: I have already modified my NES long time ago :)
But i still prefer PAL-B games over PAL-A and USA games. PAL-B runs best.
