Final Fantasy bible?

In a response to a request for prototypes an unreleased games I was sent a huge box of items which included a Final Fantasy Bible.

It appears to be a slipcase of 3 dvds and its sealed so i don't want to open it until I find out for sure what it is.

Most of the other text is Japanese. But there is some English here and there.

It appears that each DVD covers Final Fantasy games.

Anyone know what the heck this is? Its a nice looking set but is it worth opening up and watching?

Buy-Rite (http://www.buyritegames.com/product_information.asp?number=DVD-FFTBXI&back=yes&dept=1002&last=) also has it featured, though it's hard to say if they have it in stock. The set is pretty much a data library on the Final Fantasy series, and it's awesome.

Well, 13,000 yen is about 130 buc . . . er, twenty dollars. Yeah. I'll give you fifty for it.

WOW Buy-Rite has it for $199.99

I can't believe they are asking so much for this.

They should sell it for $45-$50 so we can resell it for $200.00 on ebay in the secondary market.

Game companies geesh. There they go always thinking about themselves.

Actually, a lot of Japanese DVDs are ridiculously expensive. New anime releases can run anywhere from forty to sixty bucks (in yen, natch) apiece, even if there's only a single 30-minute episode on the disc.

those dvds are an electronic follow up to digicube best selection series vol. 1 & 2: final fantasy: complete works (I through VI), published in april, 1997. two thick books containing everything you need to know about the games, from preproduction art, maps, EVERY weapon, spell, job class, enemy, npc, you name it. all in japanese, of course...

volume 2 came with a psx cd that had i believe, the openings and endings to all 6 games, cg movies from the ports of ff 4-6, and a load of other stuff. i say "i believe" because the damn disc was missing from mine, and the bastard who sold me the books never answered any of my e-mails- grrrrr.

as usual, the japanese always get the coolest stuff- i STILL don't see why squaresoft's u.s. branch hasn't felt the need to translate this stuff and bring it out here, especially with all the ff fans drooling for every bit of info about the series... :/
