Hi,
I noticed that a few people pn these baords collect alot of Jap saturn stuff. I was wondering if any of them were coming close to getting a full set of Jap saturn games?
I have been trying to do this for a while now, although i only have about 100 import saturn games to show for it. I was more trying to find out if it is possible to do or should i give up while ive still got cash left?

Collecting a full Japanese set for any major system will always be trying on both your patience and your wallet. They've all got two or three (or several dozen) stupid rares that can easily put you out half a grand or more if you take the plunge on them -- and they're often pretty shitty games, anyway. I know for the Saturn in particular there's some promo demo bicycling game (Yakisoban Deluxe? Something Deluxe, anyway...) and some home-design kiosk disc...
If you've got the money to burn and the patience to wait out the ones that pop up once a year, it's possible...heck, one member here built up complete MD, MCD, PCE, etc... sets all on student money.
If you do go for it, good luck on your adventure. :) And of course pics when you get there.

Howe many are there anyway? There's a guy I know on another board with about 450.
There is approx. 1200 Saturn games...way more than ANY other Sega Japanese platform! ( DC got around 600 WITHALL Dreamcast Collection REreleases,MD only 410 + 18 32x, and 113 mcd ones ) ( figures are approx i don't remember precisely :)
I do have around 300 saturn games, but it is not my goal to get them all..saturn is not "in my heart" as are 8-16 bits system, and there is WAY TOO MUCH shitty games on the system...collecting 900 games i don't want is too much for me and my wallet...i'm doing it for SFC,BUT SFC is a system i love along with md,pc engine, master system,etc...
So i'm not planning to get all japanese saturn games,no :)

1,251 official releases to be exact (at least by my calculations). That number includes all rereleases, etc. I had just over 800 at one point but sold roughly 550 titles when I moved. Now I have no desire to collect them all as there is indeed a lot of crap titles in there.

I have 415 or so and I don't want the complete catalog by any means... but I will continue to buy them. :)
I thought KinsukeJP on gamefaqs had the entire lot. Didn't he Nomeaz1?

I wonder what happened to him? He used to be a regular poster on the Saturn and DC board... I guess work has him too busy.

I was able to contact him a month or 2 ago. He just lurks these days.
I agree with Nomeaz1, there is a lot of crap out there. Personally I see why people may want to go for a complete set but me I'll just stick with the titles that interest me.

Yes, I agree that there are way too many Jpn Saturn games out there that I either have no interest or desire to play or they are just not worth buying for the sake of owning every game ever released. I also do not have a complete set of Jpn Mega Drive and Dreamcast games, for the same reason as the Jpn Saturn games. I just buy the ones I have interest in playing now or someday.

Best thing would be to move to Japan since most if not all the common games can be had for less than $5. That is what I've been seeing lately from a guy that is there. He buys all these games so cheap it's disgusting. Oh well, he still has to find a place to store them all... right Nomeaz1. LOL

There are 1,017 games in the list I have. It does not include promos or demos.... it could be incomplete, but I don't think by more than 30-40 games.
Wow.... Adol is still alive. It's been a while. I was renton6/texashotstuff some time ago. Remember? Did you ever complete your PC-Engine collection?

I am going to Japan in September for six weeks, so maybe i can get me a suitcase full of stuff then. At the moment, i am not really interested in the Satkore collection stuff, i have been more collecting obscure titles.
I do have the patience to do this as i have been steadily doing it over the last 5 years, so it would be like a 10 year goal i suppose.
I have been trying to contact Kinsuke about his list as i havea game with a catalogue number that does not appear on the list.

a question:
how many of those titles were released to the use/canada.
if it was quite a few then you could probably go for a complete collection encompassing use and and unique japanese titles

The only thing I've found so far is a Chinese version with the # T-7603H-16. I'll keep looking.

I think there are a few collectors with all the games, but it's way too much to finish. I am currently trying to get a complete Pal MD collection, so maybe Japanese saturn will be next. 8-)

Lugging them back to the US is what sucks. Believe me. I brought 7 years worth of crap with me. Thank God the company paid for the move. :)
