View Full Version : How many rooms do you have gaming stuff in?
Do you keep it all in one, lest the spouse get upset? Or is it spread out all over the place?
I recently consolidated to get it down to 3. If you count game-related stuff (posters, shirts, mugs, videos, CDs, etc.) it would be up to 6 for me.

I have 2 rooms but there is always stuff in transit from one room
to the other (on seperate sides of the house  ) so theres always

I have 2 rooms. Most of my stuff is in the room you see in my collection pics. My PS2 and GC are in another room by the computer for internet access. Although I suppose I could move the GC to the main room since I sold PSO.

I'm gonna say 4, but it's technically 5...
ONE.

TWO.

THREE.

FOUR.

Now, the FIFTH room is a small bedroom that we just keep our recyclables and various junk in, but it's also where my video game wardrobe is presently. I'm going to be moving all that stuff come springtime though. So... FOUR for me!

I live in a mobile home, so I don't have a lot of space. Most of my collection is in the living room, the bedroom closet contains my CoCo 3 and its disk drives along with a spare 12" A/V monitor. The computer room (ie ex-master bedroom) has some carts in it and all of my books and manuals.

I voted 3, because I normally have 3 rooms with the stuff in it. The Living room with the newer stuff (PSX/Dreamcast/Xbox, etc) My office has a NES and Genesis with power base converter in it, along with misc stuff, and the rec room, where the other 500 games are.
Though, as I look around, there is stuff sitting in pretty much every room, including the bathroom, which is frequently the home of my GBA ;)

3 at the moment. DC, GC, PS2 and XBOX are in the living room. everything else is in the basement including the basement bathroom which has boxes of handheld games stuffed in the shower stall and a few boxed consoles piled next to the toilet. It's also the home of my Mattel Football 2 which sees plenty of action while I'm takin care of business.

I have it in 5 rooms right now.
The thing is I have more gaming stuff than I can rememebr.
I found a megadrive down the back of the sofa once.
I open a cupboard and stuff falls out.
Right now I have 34 different games systems, all set up and ready to play. O_O
p.s And a very patient wife. :D

Excluding the attic, just one room. Which is even more crazy if you know just how much stuff I actually own! LOL

I use 3 rooms.
1) Living Room: for the games I am currently playing.
2)Bedroom: My collection that does not get played anymore.
3)Office: When a game is not longer played and it isn't part of the collection it goes tothe office to be sold on ebay or traded.
I don't have a large collection. I have had to sell it off on 3 occassions due to money problems. :(

Most of my games are kept boxed up in the basement. The rest are in my bedroom. Limited space at my house or I'd have 'em all in one room. 8-)

Just one room for me, which is kind of odd considering the number of systems and games I now own. They share my bedroom with my collection of several hundered books and computers (and of course, me :D ).

I have stuff in every room, although considering I only HAVE three rooms that's not saying much. ;)
Bedroom: All my systems except Dreamcast and the PS2
Living Room: Dreamcast and PS2 so I can play Samba De Amigo and DDR. Only place that has room for those mat things. :)
Bathroom: Gameboy Advance, for those times when I gotta, um, be there awhile. EVERYBODY needs one for their bathroom!

Right now, it's in 2 rooms. My brother has all the NES and SNES games and system boxes, and everything else is in my room. We'll be moving to a new house soon, so everything will be in one room.

3 or 4... and my situation is worse because 2 of them with pretty much 95% of my stuff are 7000 miles away back at home (my parents house). I came here to WA 3 years ago with nothing but a suitcase of clothes.. but I've already sort of caught up with a new 2600/colecovision/etc. collection. And of course the current consoles I bought here.

Everything is kept in my bedroom, except the N64 which is in the lounge room. But I could probably go take it back because no-one's playing it anymore.

I have systems spread out over 4 rooms.
The latest to receive a system was our new baby room (due March 21). I couldn't decide what to put in there to play while watching him, but I finally decided on an Ice Blue N64 (baby boy!) & Atari 7800.
I may have to switch out the 7800 for something else, can't decide what, but I have to keep with the blue theme. :)

Two.
Living room: PS2, Xbox, Cube
Studio room: Intellivision, Nintendo, Vectrex, Sega cdw/32X, PSX, Dreamcast, Saturn.
Now I do play games on my laptop, which goes into every room (gotta love that airport). Cripes, I'm writing this on the bowl! So does that count? if so then, 5.
Until last month, everything was in the Nintendo Room: NES, ColecoVision, and Game Gear. The recently-purchased Turbo Duo is in the living room connected to the big-screen TV. Sheesh... three TVs. An old 25" was purchased for $35 to use specifically for the NES, the 19" connected to the CV was a gift in 1989, and the big-screen was just bought from Sears two years ago. It was meant for cable TV and the VCR, but somehow a console just sneaked its' cables into it. Go figure.

4 rooms spread over 2 houses, well 5 if you count the Macintosh, which I have some Sim games on and Mario's Time Machine, stuff like that. I keep the stuff spread among two houses since you can never tell what will happen. In case of fire or theft, I always have the other half of my collection protected at least.

Right now I have stuff in 2 dedicated rooms and stuff in my bathroom. The office curently only has my DC, PC, and the strat guides. The bedroom has my GEN, NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, Saturn, x-box, and GB stuff (GBA/GBC inculded). I want to consolidate it all into my office but cant at the moment as to do so I would need something that would allow me to hook up each system to my comp monitor. So far all I have is something for my DC. I dont like having stuff in my bedroom because its to much of a destraction to sleep. Oh, and the bathroom stuff is just a bunch of cheet books. A few empty GBA boxs as well.

Everything that i only own is in my room. And it is starting to get really tight with no room for expansion. Every nook and cranny is getting filled.
Anything that me and my little bro share is in his room or in the living room at my dads. Thats all PS and PS2 stuff though. I purchased the rights to everything else from him that we had to share LOL

I got the same situation but opposite. :P Moved to NYC from Washington state, and while the majority of my stuff is here in my bedroom (and I think some magazines are out in the hall), I still have a TON of games at my mom's house and some empty boxes, manuals, magazines, and other crap at my dad's house (where my collection originated). So for me that makes... 4 rooms, spread out between 3 different houses, one on the opposite side of the country from the other two. o_O

Today 2, tomorrow 1. I'm moving into a larger apartment and my gf graciously agreed to give me one of the bedrooms as my gameroom/study. All of my stuff is going in there. Just bought a 32" TV and a brand new stand. It's going to be the shit. BOO YA

i said 2, but its technically 3..
there is the majority of my collection im my bedroom
my basement arcade is in, well, my basement
and, where the technically comes in...i have gaming magazines in the bathroom as well as a mario bros. bathroom cup holder...so that technically makes it 3
Places that I store games...
1. Upstairs Bedroom - not used as a bedroom, but many games are stored there.
2. Upstairs Stairwell area - Not sure what you call this, but it is a room around the stairwell. This is were many of my games are stored. This is the messiest area by far.
3. Upstairs walk-in closet - big closet, with boxes of games in it.
4. Living Room - Modern stuff stored here (GameCube and such).
5. Basement. I don't have too much stuff down there, yet, at least not video game. I have tons of computer stuff down their though. I still haven't gotten it finished enough to setup my game area (which I've been slowly working on for 8+ years).

For me it's two.
In the first (my room)
I keep my Game Boy collection, all the N64 and GameCube stuff that isn't being used at the moment, boxes, instructions, and all sorts of other stuff.
The second (Living Room)
MY Nintendo 64 with all 17 games, and My GameCube with all 5 games.

All my gaming stuff is in the living room. I used to have a second TV (the one I used to have when I was still living with my mom) in my bedroom but I've smashed the remote controle when I was angry and now I can't access the AV chanels. This really sucks because I can't play with my moded PS1 on my normal TV (no 60 mhz displaying). I've planed to buy another remote but the TV doesn't work propper anyway. I still have some of the games in my bedroom, but that hardly counts I think.

Everything that was in my dads living room is now in my room.
So down to 1 12ishx16ish room for aclose to if not more than 400 games, over 2 dozen displays(only 6 are large), over a dozen systems and 150-200 other fliers, posters, magazines and comics.
Not to mention the thosands of Magic and Pokemon cards, my coin collection, hundreds of books assorted nick-nacs, and general bedroom furniture.
Actually it is more spacious than before because of the arrangement i have now.
I like it.

I have my xbox, cube and ps2 hooked up in my room, along with a couple bookcases full of boxed games, handhelds and systems that aren't hooked up. In my basement I have an old 80's tv with an sms,nes,2600,tg-16 and snes hooked up to it. There's also a vectrex down there. That's where most of the stuff is but the handhelds can be found all over the house, including the bathroom.

just one. my basketball-court-sized bedroom. no, i'm not exaggerating. i don't have tivy game closets like most of you guys, i've got a huge gaming mausoleum. all my stuff is in one corner, by my bed, opposite my computer(s) at the other end of the room. i've been considering (well, begging) with my parents to get a couch , mini fridge, and microwave in here. then it would be complete. the only problems: no walls! if i'm changing and someone comes up the stairs, i have to yell "wait, hold on!" @_@

It's just 1 room for me. I use all the space I can and stack games behind one another right now to keep the space to a minimum. With all the other things in my bedroom there would be no way I could space them out to where all games were up front and center for someone to read. Whenever I move out my place will have a room dedicated to gaming and then things will become interesting. I'll need to buy posters and all to deck it out.

sadly, four LOL
1. my room (of course... odd thing is, I don't even have a TV in my room!)
2. my personal own game room (it's littered with games... literally, lol)
3. my bro's gaming game (Saturn haven)
4. my parents' room (they have a TV and that's where my DC/SAT are set up... games underneath their bed... pretty sad but hey, it's out of sight, they don't mind and yeah, damn bulky US Saturn games eat up a lot of space, plus they're ugly too :P

At the moment only 1 and not even that, so I would say 30 % of my room, I know how to fit your consoles anr games ^.^
So as you can read I voted 1.
Need to get more consoles and games, and of course boxes for my loose SNES, MD, SMS, N64 games and boxes to my consoles..
Still need at least Atari 2600, Sega Saturn, NGC, GBA SP, NDS, Sega Dreamcast, Sony Playstation, PS2, XBOX.. And lots of more.. -.-
If I would get all gaming stuff I want. I would need the whole Finland that I could fit my games and other stuff to there.. ^^
