How can we price limited edition, but current gen systems?
I've found a shop that has a Panzer Dragoon edition XBOX for sale, btu I have no idea if it's worth the $400 he's asking. It's complete and new, (but open box). The same guy has alot of nice limited edition consoles, like a Gundam GameCube, and a bunch of LE GBA consoles (Pokemon Center, Hello Kitty, etc.)
What's a good guideline for pricing such an item? I already have an LE Kasumi-Chan XBOX, so I don't really NEED another Japanese xbox...
As an aside, same guy has a bunch of boxed, might-as-well-be-new NG Pockets and Japanese Mega CDs for $25....

IMO you already have the best Xbox - Kasumi Blue.
I also have the 2nd Anniversary one but the Kasumi-chan XBox is IMO the best one.

I've seen the Panzer Xbox sell for close to $1000 on ebay.
But that was also sealed.
I imagine it's worth well in excess of $400, at any rate.

400$ is of course a really good offer though.
But still, if you're not to much interested in all the limited versions there is no need.

$400 is a great price... that's about what it runs in Japan I think, and would cost a lot to ship. A steal if you ask me.

Agreed - $400 is good. I'd probably be tempted to buy it if I saw that.

Think about this:
Gaming/collecting is a hobby about wants, not needs. Do you need that copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga to live? Hell no, but it sure looks nice in your collection.
I say go for it.... if you want it at least 8-)

I'd rather have the Japanese 2nd Anniversary Pure White Xbox than the PDO version, but I believe the PDO is far rarer.

PDO X-box was limited to 999 copies if I remember it right.

Sounds like a good price to me. That's a really nice looking xbox. I've never seen the Kasumi one but i've seen the panzer dragoon one go for over $900 before.

Hmm, sounds like I should pick it up :D I don't really need it, but it sure is nice, and it seems I could unload it pretty easily if I wanted to. I do like the limited edition consoles...
I think I definitely need to pick up a few of those $25 Mega CDs -- the guy running the shop selling them seemed amazed that anybody would want such an old system. Different tastes, I suppose...

Let's put it this way. I believe the Panzer Dragoon Xbox was limited to only 999 units according to LanKwei...

If you look on there at how much they "were" selling it for, you can soon see that $400 is a steal - Considering I just paid roughly $400 to import one of those blue Canadian Halo II editions to the UK, that is dead cheap.
The Panzer one is sure to go up in value over the years due to it's limited production run and because it is one of the most sought after Xbox's out there.

As I explained in an earlier topic:

There were actually 1,049 units released.

I was using a rare item that is expensive as an example. You could be set as a gamer with nothing newer than a SNES, and play for the rest of your life buying games for the systems that are older than it, but we want newer things (or things we dont need, ex. PDS) because that's our nature.
I am sorry for confusing you.
