A kid came into my store (EB GAMES) yesterday and wanted to trade in this NES 52 In 1.

I had remembered playing one of these when I was a kid. The picture you see is from ebay, but my question is, how rare is this thing. This was the first one I had seen in almost 15 years, so I took in in as a Journey To Sillius (there was no value for it) and then bought it for 99 cents.
Thanks guys.

It's not rare. But it's certainly worth the .99 you paid for it! Plus now you can play 52 Famicom games without having to drag out a Famicom and 52 cartridges. Nice deal!

Thanks Joe. Sounded like a good deal to me at the time too!
One of the games that caught my eye on it was The Goonies, the original, never released in US, version. I always wanted to own a cart with that one on it and now I do.
Oh, and by the way, this kid also traded in two other rare games, Hatris and Deathbots. :eek 2: Was the weirdest NES trade in transaction I had seen! You can bet I picked those up too.

and what did he get for these games? They usually really rip you off with the trade-ins. LOL

He maybe got a quarter if he was lucky. :P

That particular pirate is awesome because it has many non-mapper 1 games. Highlights include Gradius, Adventure Island, Goonies 1, Tengen Tetris and a cool hack of SMB1 that uses SMB2J graphics. That one's a keeper.

A lot of folks on this forum will tell you its worthless, but sell it on eBay (preferably for 1 day's auction), and you'll make a profit.

How many of these are floating around? Even if they're pirates...

they're rare here but some Chinese home probably uses them as bricks. Famicom pirates are exponentially commoner

That cartridge is worth its weight in gold. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Nice deal on your part.
