i recently acquired a medium-sized box of parts for the atari 5200, 2600 and 800. i have absolutely no idea what most of them are and have no way of appraising them. i feel that they might be valuable to someone because they are no longer manufactured.

most of the parts are inside plastic "atari service" baggies with labels that look like this:

additionally, there are some 15-pin and 30-pin connectors for something, a CPU board, some joystick parts, and many ram chips. anybody have any ideas of what i should do with this stuff?

I wandered past a repair shop in a small town and the window had a large "ATARI SERVICE" sticker slapped on it - I thought this was hilarious so I walked in and asked if they had any junk leftover in the back room. The guy was glad to hand it over and I felt that at this moment my addiction for hoarding video game junk had crossed some line, considering that I have no knowledge of electronics and this stuff is useless for me. Although the Atari 5200 name plates are preeeetty cool!

I second Phreak97's post. So if he doesn't want the stuff, let me know,

I can specifically tell you that I think the picture in your original post is of transistors used for the 5200 power circuit.

somewhat related, I once found a technicians guide for repairing a 2600. it has all the circuitry noted as well as all the parts needed to troubleshoot and repair. should be easy enough to find online.

ahhh, I found it. try this

im in the same boat you are...a thousand 'atari service' parts, and no knowledge of electronics. i do have a near complete roll of 'atari service' stickers though! :)
