That's a lot of stuff, talk about carrying around baggage.
Everything I have can fit into less than 8 for sure.

"Hey, let's play a game of Donkey Kong Country!"
"Okay, it's in box 12...or is that box 2? Or is it box 28?" LOL
Impressive collection.
Just boxing it up would be a lot of work, let alone moving it all. @_@
Damn, but that is a lot of games! @_@ Nice collection! If I had the money, maybe, but...

that is really shitty to move, and then reorganize when you get there. oh well, its better than losing them all or having to sell everything.

If I ever have to move again, I'm selling everything except my handheld systems. I am NOT moving all that crap again, twice is two times too many. LOL

That's an impressive pile of boxes. Unfortunately that is how my collection always looks. I think I've got a good 40 boxes or so. Whereabouts in Washington are you moving to?

I'll be joining you in the packing this next month... I'm not really looking forward to the packing.
I will feel your pain.

I got lucky in the fact that all I had to do was go to sams club, get a restaraunt sized roll of saran wrap, and just go nuts. I left all the boxes in the bokcases where they are, I pulled the game drawers out and wrapped them right there, I even just wrapped my console in place on the console racks.
Only thing I actually had to take out were all the CD games and magazines because they ended up weighing a LOT, those fit into 5-10 boxes. Also took the controller drawers out of my console rack and wrapped them up.
Ahhhh... saran wrap.....

I am moving to Vancouver, Washington, to be exact. As for setting up my new game room, I have learned a couple of things that I will not repeat. I dont expect to have the new game room done until December or so.

If/when I move... I think I'll have to keep my place and get a new house.
1. Too much stuff.
2. Wife would pack before I got to, and it would sound like this "dear squeeze those consoles/games/controllers in theres more room" "WOMAN ARE YOU MAD" etc. etc.
3. Rogue gamers may hijack the goods.
4. Even if you move yourself, like socks in laundry... something will be missing.
the list went on till like infinity... didnt want to drag it out though.

I'm moving soon, and ever since I found that out, I pretty much stopped buying videogames altogether for awhile, just so I have less to move. Right now I have less then 1000 games, but it will still suck a whole lot moving it all.

I just finished moving into a condo from an apartment.
Now I dont have near the collections of most you guys, maybe a couple hundred games and 20 or so consoles...and I had like 15 boxes of game shit. I can't imagine moving again in a few years...oh god. :)

Maybe I'm odd, but boxing and unboxing my collection was the best thing about moving. Its like Christmas. "Oh yeah, I DO have... whatever." Of course my wife and I are packrats so when we move, its gonna take six trips anyway.

Everything I have can easily fit into just 2 trunks- less, once I take out what I actually won't keep.
That's some collection you got there!

He has more boxes in that stack than I did when I moved my *house*. Seriously, I think his collection is more impressive boxed than displayed. We're talkin' MASS here folks!
What is even funnier is that he has to carry all that down a very narrow flight of stairs. I've been laughing at him for weeks LOL
Best of luck man, we'll miss ya!

It took me about 30 good size boxes when I moved out of our apartment into our house. In the two years since I'm sure that's increased by at least 1.5 times over - hell I just got four boxes worth of stuff in the last two weeks (bought somebody's Genny, TG and Intellivision collection when he couldn't sell it at a garage sale).

I really have no idea how many boxes I will need whenever I move. It's gonna be one hell of a lot. Much of it already IS in boxes due to storage problems though. And some of them are huge ass boxes (a couple are 1m cubed, one has SNES stuff in, the other much of my Vic20 collection).
