Anyone Familiar with this Controller? (pics warning)

Hi there. I have this controller and I would like to know a little bit about it. Was it a promo item? Is it a cheap third party knock off / pirate? That sort of thing.

I have had it for 10 months or so and I do occassionaly spend some time on google but I don't get very far so I thought I would come here to the experts [/ass kissing]. Here is some extra info.

- Box has Japanese text on it.
- The box does not have the official PS symbol on it as we are used to seeing in North America. It just says PSX (pirate item????)
- The controller is shaped alot like the one that came with Namco's R4
- There is a GT 2000 label on a metal disc in the middle of the wheel.
- The GT looks just like the Gran Turismo logo.

Thanks for the help. I am thinking of putting this on eBay and would like to give a fairly accuate description of the controller.

Probably fake since I've never seen it in Japan, and japanese gaming goods tend to have a lot of Copyright-Stuff written on them.

Also I'm missing the offical signs and logos which you can always finde on licensed stuff. The Japanese writing doesn't look original either.

I forgot a picture of the side of the box with a Mode # (?) and a UPC bar. I am also leaning towards fake.

Definately, however this is Gran Turismo Branded!

As Namco have nothign to do with Gran Turismo (To my Knowledge) im guessin its a pirate too

I also notice that they emphasise the "CE" symbol. In my experience, if they need to print it that size, then it's usually dodgy! LOL

Yes, definitely a pirated JogCon. I really like both the JogCon and the NegCon when used with their respective Ridge Racer games (R4 and Rage Racer respectively, I believe).

Pretty neat looking for a pirate item though.
