Hiya my fellows Canucks! What I consider to be the closest thing to a movie version of the game Missile Command is playing tonight on Moviepix at 7pm eastern (MPix 2) and 9pm eastern (Mpix 1). Commercial-free and uncut: that's how I like my movies!

Besides, I'm such a huge fan of Ally Sheedy...

Looks like my VCR will be busy tonight... :)

Nice deal on that DVD! What kind of extra features does it have? How would you rate them?

Thanks...

This is off the back of my DVD: (R1 in case other regions are different)

Feature Length Audio Commentary by director John Badham and writers Lawrence Lasker & Walter F. Parkers

new Dolby 5.1 soundtrack

Trivia and production notes

and original theatrical trailer

(also have french sound but mono only, has English, French and Spanish subtitle)

Oh yeah I have the 1.85:1 widescreen version so I can see some scenes that are normally cut off for full screen version.

MarkM2112: as stated above, those are it for features. It comes with a small 4 (or maybe 8?) page booklet with some additional information and trivia, which was a nice start on an otherwise barren DVD. Mentions stuff like Matt Broderick actually had the Galaxian? arcade machine loaned to him so that he could practice to make his playing look authentic or something like that.

I would love a special edition dvd of this movie with interviews and such..

Good ole Wargames! This was when Matthew Broderick wasn't skipping school, running from cable guys, or fixing school elections!

Some favorite quotes:

General Berenger: Mr. McKittrick, after very careful consideration, sir, I've come to the conclusion that your new defense system sucks.

Mr. Lightman (referring to the corn he bites into): Of course, it's crisp, it's raw!

Stephen Falken: John, I see the wife still picks your ties.

General Berenger: I'd piss on a sparkplug if I thought I'd do any good!

Mr. Liggett: Alright, Lightman. Maybe you can tell us who first suggested the idea of reproduction without sex.
David Lightman: Um, your wife?

Here, listen to few.
