I just picked up an extra one, so I'm gonna sell this one off. Works fine, only one problem with the label. Someone scratched off the label part where it says "not for resale". The rest of the cartridge looks great.

I'm asking $180 plus shipping on this one. (These usually hit $250 + on ebay, so my price is very reasonable)

If you're interested, drop me a PM or email me at kazz@itol.com

Thanks

Danny

egads!

I guess some kid thought he couldn't sell it again with the "not for resale on it" hey?

That sucks! Great price though... too bad my trade list won't appeal to you :)

Thanks for the kind words. :)

I'm trying to be as fair as possible with the price and was going to ebay it, but I figured I'd try here first. As far as trades go, I won't rule them out. Cash would be best (paypal/money orders are OK too), but I'm open to trades as well. Thanks to dave2236 who hooked me up with a bunch of Jaguar games, I'm collecting them as well. (never thought that would happen) So let me know what you have for trade and we can talk, but if someone comes along and offers me $$ for it, that will be what I prefer.

Thanks

Danny

sorry to ask, but what is different about this version?

Nothing. It's like all the other Starfox Super Weekend cartridges but with a label partially scratched off.

I bet he's asking about the differences between the regular $5 Starfox and this one, because it is plain obvious this one has the label thorn- doh

Let me guess, another "event exclusive" cartridge with nothing more than the regular $5 Starfox but the label and the quantity made?

Starfox Super Weekend has a 4-minute timer programmed into the game. Not to mention the fact there are only 3 stages (the first two are very short and fast-paced forms of the first two stages of the regular game, the third is sort of a bonus stage). Oh, and the fact that it's a different label and there's only a few hundred copies out there (if that...).

Well Donkey Kong Competition comes to my mind, or NES Stadium Events.

You can learn a lot by searching and reading, you know?

Ok you're also a wiseguy right? Weren't you the one who thought starfox comp was "nothing more than the regular" am I right?. And how is DK comp "nothing more than the regular" as well? That is the question I posed you, you know? What so called event exclusives were you referring to that are just nothing more than the regular $5 copies :?

:whip:

And as far as I know Stadium Events isn't exlusive except being sold at woolworths, hardly a distinction to be recognized as an "event exclusive". Somebody back me up here.

So only DK comp is an event exclusive, why would say they are BOTH in that category for. So as it turns out I'm up on my reading, and you?

I think he probably mixed it up with Nintendo's World Champion cart (NWC).

To answer everybody's questions: The Donkey Kong and Star Fox Competition carts were sold to Blockbuster. Blockbuster then rented the games out for weekends (or two days, or whatever) and the high-scores would be put into the game. Therefore, the next people to rent the game could compete against the previous renters of the game.
After this contest was over, Nintendo gave some of the carts to winners of Nintendo Power magazines. Therefore, making it quite rare.
Also, the game is different in a sense that you can only play for a predetermined amount of time (somebody said 4 minutes in this thread.. I guess it was 4 minutes). Making it so you only had 4 minutes to get your score for the competition.

Dig it. No problem then. Probably a just misunderstanding over punctuation or some odd end that made the original question hard not to overlook. 8-) So the Starfox Weekend games were rented out? Sounds awesome, wish I'd heard about it back then.

The Super Starfox Weekend was a seperate contest held across the country at different stores that sold Nintendo games. You got to play 5 minutes every half hour, if I remember correctly. There wasn't anything about renting them out of Blockbuster, unless that's something that Nintendo did after the fact. I always heard that Nintendo sold the Starfox carts, I don't know anything about the Donkey Kong Country cart, through Nintendo Power, which always ticked me off since I didn't have a subscription and wanted one of those carts since I played in the competiton.

Yes I've know there were in store trials and I think Nintendo Power did then gave you the chance to order the existing games afterwards through the back of the magazine at a bit of a big price too.
