100% Complete PC Engine Hucard/CD/SCD/ACD/SGX JPN Collection

Here are pictures, in my album, of 100% Complete PCE collection...All are complete, 80% of CDs have spine cards
( i didn't put them out for double cd boxed games ), and even 30% of the whole collection is FACTORY SEALED!

I put too some rare stuff i have like Darius Alpha with 3D Glasses,certificate,padded envelope from Nec Avenue..extremely rare Gradius 2 Official Sample, or the 7 Caravan Hucards (including Power League GolD! )

All Game Express games, hentai games,everything!
Finally in one pic, i put the few US Turbo Duo games i have...but good ones: Dynastic Hero, Bonk 3 SCD.. :)

Calling that "impressive" would be an understatement. More like holy mother of God. I can't imagine how much time and/or money that cost you, but congratulations. The only part I can't get is why you'd want 30% of that collection sealed. I'm sure they're worth more that way, but I've never been the kind to believe in that stuff - TAKE THOSE PUPPIES OUT AND PLAY 'EM. Or at least buy loose copies to game with.

I played them all..i just bought extra factory sealed copies later,because it gives to the collection WAY more value :)

Well that makes sense - I bought sealed Atari 2600 games after I already had loose copies, but in that case I wanted the boxes to put out on display. :D

Adol, nice to know you're still around, I don't go for complete collections of systems as 1: there're always a good number of junks in a system's library, no matter how impressive the overall collections are, 2: there're simply too expensive to collect, 3: any system with less than 100 games doesn't interest me, lack of variety.

Few rare exceptions to the first barrier are the following systems, whose libraries have the lowest % of garbage games:

Neo-Geo AES, PC-Engine, MegaDrive/CD (not US), Dreamcast, Super Famicom (this would be my dream collection) .

Even with access to cheap games, it still took me 4 years to complete my sealed US Dreamcast collection, had I not gone into Neo-Geo collection (7 years to complete), I'd be collecting SFC games w/o a blink. I almost always buy games at lowest price points. Now, I can't imagine how one can get all SFC games without hurting too much on your wallet.

I am seriously impressed Adol - I myself collect PC Engine (just started), Neo Geo AES, Laseracive and Virtual Boy but this my friend is serious collecting... and $$$.

How did you acquire all the "rare" titles such as Sapphire, Darius Alpha or Virtual Bowling, Virtual Lab... did you just pay up the money or got lucky and foudn them for bargain?

That is the only downside of my collection - I have never spent more than $150 on a single game (MS4 AES) and already know that I will never be able to complete any of my collections because prices have gone so high on some game - but one day I'll hit the jackpot and then... :D

Darius Alpha,complete that way,is easily worth $1500,the 7 caravan hucards are $2000 easily too - Power League Gold is $1000-1200 alone )

Too,many games are in the $200 range..Renny Bladster with Spine Card for example..
Games like Shogi Data Base is worth $200 too

Coryoon, Factory Sealed like mine,can be $200,etc..

Do you care to tell us more about those 7 Caravan games and why they are so rare? Sorry, I don't know much about PCE or any of its games...

They were "given out" hucards at contest...eahc year hudson organized a contest,where you had to do the hiighest score in japan...one year was gunhed,another final soldier,another soldier blade,etc...
And a tthe end of the year,after the finals,the best scorers received a SPECIAL hucard, not for sale one, as reward!
Power League Gold is only edited at 200 pcs!!
Soldier Blade Special Version,instead,is around 2000 pcs,so it is not that valuable compared to Power League Gold
( then,if you understood my explanation,it was the reward to 200 best scorers at caravan power league contest..back in 1989 i think )!

It is all good but how did you acquire your collection? DId you pay full price for all the rare games or did you manage to score a few from cheap from sellers who did not know the value or other lucky situtation?

I take it,it took you a lot of time&money to collect all that.

I doubt when i'm done with the PCE i'll have that many games, but all i care is to 'play the ones i want the most.

That's not at all the case these days. I got my complete Darius Alpha including the release letter that came with it for $900 and I haven't seen DA top $1000 in years. Not to lessen the collectability of it, but it's a crap game not worth even $1000. The caravan stuff is cool, but the real fun is the freaky freaky PCE hardware rarities.

Haha, I sold them a couple of years back to a fellow on eBay (before eBay went nuts over anything prototype or beta). You know, during that whole economic recession thing. ;)

I originally obtained those two from a former Sega of America employee who often bounced things back and forth with SoJ. I ended up with about 14 betas/protos out of the deal and I still have 4 of them.

Wow didn't know so many pce games were so expensive. I'll have to put the PCE down with my concept of neogeo, in the "When I win the lottery" category.
