I'm just wondering, is this guy independently wealthy and this is his hobby or something? I know he's probably not spending a whole lot in acquiring the rights and he clearly isn't spending a lot in production, but still WTF? Money is money and I don't see any of his films making a profit. So where is he getting his funding from mass producing this crap?

PS, Uwe Boll may well be the Ed Wood of our generation.

When will this guy STOP? This is driving me nuts. That's a good point, were does he get the funding for making these horrible pieces of work?

I think this one is going to flop anyways, the game was cool because of the open spaces and great graphics.. Unlike some of the crappy movies he has directed, this one is lacking in a deep plot needed to make a good movie. Look at super mario brothers.. good game, crappy film because there was no real plot to SMB other than save the princess, go from castle to castle till you find her..

I actually thought the plot to FarCry was one of the best in a long time coming from a FPS. Granted, that isnt saying much, but it was still there, and it fit together pretty well. It wasnt like 'Kill those guards!' and 'Holy shit, where did those monsters come from? Kill them as well!', there was a rhyme and a reason to it.

As Long As *w* B*ll stays away from Metroid and Zelda, I'll be Okay. Otherwise, massive wiffle bat marks will be found on his bloody corpse, and I'll be moving to a small cabin in Montana..

I don't think that Nintendo would let this guy come anywhere near their franchises. His movies are universally panned - two of them are on IMDB's bottom 100!

http://www.imdb.com/chart/bottom

It's a legitimate question - where does the guy get funding to make future movies? You'd think that, with a career like his, he'd be driven out of Hollywood with all sorts of people chasing after him throwing rotting vegetables.

dont know what's worse - Boll directing, or the developer/publisher giving him the permission

Lothars, apparently you don't know the horrors of Uwe Boll's directing. Kevin Pereira puts it quite nicely:

But didn't commando already come out in the 80's? I thought that movie was pretty good it's going to be hard to top, esp since Arnould and Alysa milano were in it :D

Hmmm....doesn't surprise me much. I remember looking up his films on IMDB and he had Farcry, Bloodrayne and something else filming. One of these days I'll have to see one of his damn movies just to see how bad it really is. At least he didn't snag Silent Hill.

I could imagine what Silent Hill would be like with him directing it...

That's what I was thinking. I don't know what I would do if he tried to make a silent hill movie. I would really hate to see silent hill slautered as a movie. I would prolly lose it. :argue: :bad-words: :texaschain: :rockets: :moon: :fist:

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_Boll

"Boll essentially is a modern-day B-movie director. He's able to secure the investors (mostly German, in Hollywood often derisively referred to as "stupid German money"), secure the rights for cheap, picking games with only moderate brand recognition, does all of the actual production himself, and swiftly cranks out a film. While under normal circumstances a director's movies could gross so little he's eventually shut out from every operating studio, Boll is exempt because he funds them under a loophole in German tax law that is supported by contributors and actually rewards films that perform badly, via a writeoff at the end of the year."

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... man I love being a turtle.

I mean, Uwe Boll is the WORST director of our times, one whom is WORST of all taking what we love so dearly (video games) and turning them into the WORST possibly conceived Hollywood trash.

He's the WORST. Bar none. :eek 2:
