Recently this item came up for bid on Ebay:

http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/167/167491/folders/208631/1596731et5.jpg

It sold for $83.00, and my first thought was that it probably went to a gamer like us.
WRONG. Not a gamer, an E.T. Lover.
The high bidder ---> wwwiloveetcom

Going to that site, my eyes could hardly believe the glory of his E.T. Room of Doom!

After seeing this room, I wonder how he feels about Howard Scott Warshaw. :)

I saw that guy and his room on some show where people are totaly obsessed with things, in fact he charges people to look in his room, and he often dresses up with his friends and put ET's in the front.

I saw this the other day over at Atariage. That is an impressive collection to say the least! I always like seeing collections of things that aren't video games.
I actually remember seeing pics of some guys "Coke" (the soda, not the drug. LOL ) collection, and it was AMAZING!!! He had so much stuff it was almost disturbing.

Very impressive collection. Sitting in a room full of 1980's-era videogames such as I am I'm hardly in a position to cast the first stone (or Reese's Piece, in this case) at somebody else's obsessive tendencies.

ET is a film of which I've recently rediscovered its value. It's probably Spielberg's best film among his family-friendly ones.

HSW ought to send this kid an autographed MIB ET cart. It's not like there still aren't a jillion of them laying around.

Damn thats impressive!Sometimes I forget that there are collectors for just about everything.

I had one of those plushy E.Ts when I was little, but my dog ate it! Now I still want another one, hes just too cute.

yea the show was hosted by Fred Willard and i think it was on VH1. it seemed like a cool show too, would have been cool to see a video game collector featured

I always love seeing guys like this. It makes me feel... normal. Anyway, I always thought it would be fun to see somebody do something like this with one of the bigger gaming icons, like Pac Man

E.T. was much like Return of the Jedi in that it was quite
over-merchandised and there are tons of mint in package
stuff still around. But unlike ROTJ there is no SW cool so
the prices remain low for it. I'm always running across old
E.T. items. That guy did pick a good movie to collect for.

He probably got most of that stuff quite afforably. Imagine
the price that store display would have got if it was a Star
Wars movie! Pretty nice collection overall. On the DVD of
the film Super Size Me, there is a scene cut from the the
movie that is of this old couple who collect McDonalds
stuff. They have an entire garage dedicted to everything
Mickey D!!!
