So, how much would you pay for the Extremely Rare game?

I paid $10 + tax at a pawn. That's probably about as high as I would go for it to stay in my personal collection - I have no rhythm and the game became unfun very quickly.

Saw it around this time last year at Gamestop going for 20 bucks or so. Unfortunately I decided not to buy it. That was pretty dumb of me, hun?

I myself would hypothetically pay up to $60 for a complete copy. It's just that damn good of a game. Luckily I got my copy for $5. :D

Saw it at Best Buy (well, like 3 copies) for $50. Then $40. Then $30. Once I played a demo, and found out how awesome/rare it was, they were all gone. :/

I've yet to get one, I dont like paying $50+ for a used game.

Hugs my 2 complete copies (1 mint, and 1 scratched to hell - thanks to my PS2...) and the Japanese Debut demo disk. Glad I got mine cheap when I did (1st one, I traded 2 $5 Saturn imports. For my 2nd one, I paid $15 from an online retailer.)

I can't believe how high it has gotten in the past 2 years... I guess it's good to know so many people are interested in the game now. Even if you don't like the actual game, the soundtrack kicks so much ass, and everyone should experience it at least once.

It's not "Extremely" rare as far as I know. There's justa high demand for it, that's all. I'd hardly class it in the same league as games like Suikoden III, FD18, and Rez though.

I paid £6.99 a few months back for my sealed PAL version. Since then, it seems to have shot up in value to about £30 for some very strange reason - I'm not too surprised though, as it is one of the best games on the PS2 and is ALWAYS in one of my PS2's at some point - Same as Parappa is always in one of my PS1's

Paid $5 (also new) for mine and love it to pieces. If I had to buy it over again, and already knew how great it was, I'd drop $60-$70 in a heartbeat.

That being said, I'm still hanging on to my second copy. Its my retirement fund ;)

Wow, didn't know that Gitaroo Man is worth this much.
I have the German PAL Version and the Japanese NTSC version. Each cost about €10.00, so a little less in US$. Both are mint, as I played it for a while and then put it aside.

You find these quite often on ebay.de or even in stores. It isn't very popular with mainstream gamers here. Japanese origin = freak games = almost no sales.

When my video store closed down, I made sure I got this game. So it was free for me. I loved it before I owned it and I still do. Funnn game.

I'm QUITE sure the US version is MUCH rarer. I've seen boatloads of copies of the PAL version and quite simply it never went for that much. ;)

Yea, I agree, I guess only the US version is rare. The PAL one might be uncommon, but it's not hard to find a copy if you're searching for it.

I got mine at Media Play for $10 a couple years ago. I had no idea the value shot up either. I was lucky and got Rez cheap too. It was already at cult status and sought after. I lucked into at Toys R Us for $20.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and DDR Disney Mix (WHY??) both for PS1 were a couple others I got cheap at Best Buy not long after release that later turned out to be pretty valuable.

Not that the value really matters. I have no intention of selling any of them.

Had it and sold it.

Would pay like $20 max for another copy. No replay value at all, it's cheaper to just buy the soundtrack.

Speaking about DDR Disney - two and a half years ago, I walked into Virgin Megastore and saw three sealed copies of the game for 30 bucks each. The game had been going for about 50 sealed at the time, but I took a look online and saw the price had dropped quite a bit. I figured there may have been a reprint. How wrong I was. I'm still kicking myself about not buying them!

And Gitaroo Man is not "extremely rare". It's price seems more like the Tengen Tetris bubble than anything. I see this game quite often.

WOW! I can't believe this is going for that much. The game IS THAT GOOD (Far better than rez could ever hope of being) but I'm still really surprised. Got mine for $17 at EB used in complete mint shape.

Honestly, I would have thought it was going for $30-$40 on ebay if noone had started this post.
