Anyone got a link to the TG16 Expansion bus pinout?

Thanks Bratwurst!

Hmmm. I have a problematic TG16 here. It has the standard shorted out RF output. It works with composite video on my Turbobooster.

I can't get the plain jane composite mod on that page to work. Audio left, yep. Audio right, yep. I get nothing from the ground and the composite out pin. :/

Like I said it works with the booster, so I took the booster apart, to take a look see. Suprise surprise. It's *not* a straight pass thru from that pin and ground. The booster seems to generate it's own powered composite signal. Weerd. I imagine it's tapping the other video signals and making it's own composite. If I understand the pinouts, it shouldn't be amplifying the composite from that pin, would it?

I'm beginning to think it's this TG16. Anyone else tried tapping composite from the exp bus? results? Where did you bridge the 0.1uF cap, if at all?

I'm gonna try it in my known good TG16, just to see if the composite tap works from it. If anyone can point out something I'm missing I'd appreciate it.

Boosters are hard to get, and a composite mod to this thing should be an easy fix to get around it's RF issue.

I got a lot of signal noise using the cap.

try this link instead of the other one, I actually had to 'figure' this mod out for myself...I didn't take pictures :/

but if I could do it, you should have no problem.

In my experience, use of the capacitor also introduced signal noise. Are you tapping into seperate grounds for the two audio lines in addition to the video? If your other 'good' TG-16 works with the cable I'd wager there's a broken pin in the expansion bus, maybe on the other side (interior) of the console. Those individual pins aren't exactly the most resiliant things in the world.

I have done this. I did not solder to the pins, and I used no capacitor. The only problem I notice is that I have to turn the volume up to hear it good. Other than that it works fine. I connected everything to a single ground pin. I have a picture I could upload if I had a chance.

I'm runnin A/V off the exp buss.I remember soldering the wires behind the port .I don't know anything about adding a cap.I got the pinout someware at gamesx.Everything works great, but I can't remember what grounds I used. There are several ,that much I do remember.

I did it without problems, just soldered AV cables to a connector and stuck it on. I remember hacking the connector down because it had one or two too many pin columns.

Here is the picture.

Its hard to see, but the red wire connects all the grounds to the ground pin in the lower right. I used individual pin "sleeves", I did not solder directly to the pin, so the cable is removable. I have since shrink wrapped the exposed wires.

EDIT: The picture is larger than I expected. New camera.

I did get it out of the other one no problem. Thanks all for the pinout help, so I could be sure the mod was correct.
