last night on robot chicken they had yet another game reference. the skit started out with a game of donkey kong, with mario jumping up the platforms, and donkey kong throws one of those little flame guys down, and starts throwing barrels. all of a sudden, three master chiefs run across the screen- one yellow suited chief, a white one, and a teal one. meanwhile, mario picks up a hammer and starts swinging it around. then the master chiefs jump onto the side of the screen, grab mario's hammer, toss it offscren, and break mario's neck. they yellow chief shoots a grappling hook up and clumbs up to rescue the princess , while the other two chiefs plant a time bomb underneath DK's platform. they all run off, and the bomb explodes. then the Teal guy runs in, pulls out a pistol, and shoots DK in the head, and runs off. the white guy then runs in on the bottom of the screen and takes out a fire extinguisher and puts out the little fire-guy.
this was one of my favorite Robot Chicken skits yet, and it was an awesome use of the halo action figures. i also liked the dating show where the guy says "we matched up some crazy couples, like a geek with a beauty queen, a basketball player with a midget, and "Jackass" star Steve-O with someone who isn't a loser!" and then they have the date between the alien and the predator.
yeah.

i just recently discovered Robot Chicken thanks to #80s-Cartoons on IRC (Dejatoons)
And im impressed (I doubt it will come over here (To THe UK))
I havent seen the one you have mentioned but i look forward to it!
I love the Mortal Kombat ones, and also the racing skit with Mario, Luigi and Wario on their karts... thought it was great.

They also poked fun at Frogger. I thought the DK one was alot funnier, though. Especially when the Halo guy puts out the fire ball with the flame extinguisher.

Robot chicken is great, what I can't understand is how they got all of the high-star names they get to do voices on that show. it's unbelievably small and niche, but they get like 20 REAL celebs every friggin episode?!

IMO, that was the best episode yet. The Donkey Kong and Frogger parts were awesome, but the Akira parody (with Kaneda on the stage singing "Tetsuooooooooo!" in an opera-like voice) was priceless. :D

the best reference was the episode where they pay tribute to the 1980 classic "Midnight Madness".

it's a VERY SHORT show on cartoon network (I think? I never pay attention to channels, TIVO!)
Pretty funny, just that after commercials, intro, and credits, it's about 9 minutes long lol. Definitely worth watching though.

heh that TiVo sketch is awesome! I recognised the voice straight away being a 70s show freak!
Speaking of game references in comedy, what about Pac-Man in Family Guy?

Most of the celeb voices are people Seth Green has worked with in the past. And come on, who woldn't want to do something lke that. It has to be fun as hell, and if all you do is voice it takes maybe 2 minutes.
