SWIV

Just been browsing through the games database (ace - been looking for comprehensive lists like that for ages!) and I noticed a small error.

I was always a big fan of Silkworm and I was reading the text on SWIV, the console/computer sequel, and it says in the database it stands for "SilkWorm 4/IV". This is in fact not correct.

SWIV stands for "SilkWorm In Vertical". Not amazingly helpful I know, but correct none the less :)

eh, that's what you get for trusting archaic Amiga websites! Cheers, I'll get it fixed next time there's an update ;)

Funny thing, the magazin add for the home computer versions said "SWIV - No one knows what it means but everyone will know it when it arrives" Today people still aren't sure what SWIV means.

Actually the instruction manual for the C64 version has several abbreviations for SWIV such as Secret Weapon Installation Verification or Special Weapons Interdiction Vehicles as well as SilkWorm IV homing missiles.

Im going on the fact I have two original interviews from the Sales Curve who programmed the original game (these were from before the game was originally released). In both they were asked the question and both times they give the same answer.

I have never seen the C64 version so couldn't comment on that :)
