I've dealt with Packrat many times. Only had one issue where an order was goofed up. Other than that, no problems at all (at least for me). They can be a bit slow at times though...

Yeah, I don't know what's up with them. They're making the Wolfenstein 2600 game and I was on a pre-order. It's been so long with not so much as an update or anything that I don't even want it anymore.

I don't even know if people who were on the first pre-order list got theirs or not.

I am on the first pre-order list. We still have not been e-mailed with ordering instructions, much less recieved the damned game. My experience thuss far with the Wolfenstein 2600 game has left me with the impression that packratVG are a very unprofessional organization.

For what it's worth, I've never had a problem with Packrat. The only thing I can say is that I haven't ordered from them in a while (I think since the last new O2 game came out), so maybe there's something going on recently.

It's possible they were busy getting ready for the OKGC (or whatever the acronym) and are trying to catch up now before CGE, dunno.

They didn't have a table at OVGE though - so far as I know they weren't there.

And sadly, I have to put myself on the list of people who are waiting for something for which money has already changed hands. Ordered a copy of O2 Planet Lander about a month ago, and haven't heard a peep (or seen a cartridge). I've e-mailed a couple of times to ask if everything's OK, and got no response.

I'm not writing Jarett off as "Packcrap," as I've worked with him before on stuff and he has always struck me as a straight-ahead guy, but I hope everything's OK with him. I'm as frustrated with the delay as you are, but I also know that a lot of these smaller outfits are one-man bands, and therefore subject to the kind of real-life interference that we all get from time to time. :)

Not to throw fuel on the fire, but his web site also seems to be down/missing. :hmm:

Did some searching elsewhere, and found that someone apparently spoke to Jarett today about games that hadn't shipped yet:

Please keep in mind that the above linked thread is a discussion about one game, and not a general thread like this one, if you decide to add your 2 cents there.

hmm, to me they rule, i can't see them screwing anyone....some people on here know them, i think they might have a user on here actually.

I'm sure this will get over to them soon.\

I absolutely understand everyone's frustration with their orders/preorders. If I were in one of our customer's shoes, I would be just as displeased if not more unhappy than those that have posted. Like PDF said, Packrat sadly became a one-man-band outfit recently. I tried to hire on new help, but sadly nothing worked out. As luck would have it, I started a new job with crazy hours just as all of this occurred. I apologize to everyone for the delays and lack of communication on my part. These last few months I have acted unprofessionaly.

I do have good news, however. All of our current orders that are backed up will be refunded and sent free of charge. That's right, even the shipping charges will be refunded. It's not right that someone should have to wait so long for an order, and I feel that this is the only way to rectify the situation. I hope that this demonstrates Packrat's ethics and devotion to classic gaming and gamers everywhere.

As for Wolfenstein, it's shipping over the next few days. Ordering instructions will go out tonight. The end product has been a long time in the coming, but it's absolutely spectacular and definitely worth the wait.

I don't think that many people realize that I'm always available to speak to at 801-358-1764. That's my customer service line. I am more than willing to talk to anyone about their order or any other concerns they may have. You can even email me your phone number if you'd like me to pick up the tab on the long distance.

Again, I apologize for the delays and assure everyone that Packrat is back on track.

Thanks,
Jarett Waite

I wonder what happened. They were to my knowledge a very reliable company. They came to the Midwest Gaming Classic and had some excellent displays of their stuff. I picked up the game PackRat from them now.

Maybe they are just doing some moving or something. The GOAT Store just moved recently, and we were nearly a week behind on sending out some items. We've caught up now... hopefully PackRat will too!

List,

If its any consolation I ordered from them 2x planet lander some time back, it did take about a month to arrive. and even worse I got stung for customs becouse of their labelings system clearly showing the prices including shipping (which costoms adds to the value) effectively adding an extra thrid onto the total costs :(

but they did arrive.

I paid for my limited edition copy of Wolfenstein VCS on Wednesday, and recieved via priority mail today. The packaging and cart label look awesome, but I havent had a chance to play it yet. It took a little bit of extra time for it to be released, but it's finally here!

Well, a bag of mixed reviews.

However, I like that the person in charge of Packrat responded quickly and decently to this problem.

I've been planning to purchase some O2 homebrews (and that O2 DVD) from them.

This is pretty reassuring.

I've had good dealings with Packrat. Including the Wolfenstein VCS, which I paid for this past week, and received the cart within 2 days of having paid.

So.....your idea of resolving the situation is to simply bitch about it here, when you're unwilling to pursue a satisfactory conclusion on your own?

Me? If I had a problem with a seller AND I had his phone number, I'd be calling every damn day, demanding satisfaction. I certainly wouldn't be posting occassional "I'm still pissed" updates on a website that has no connection with the person I'm trying to get my items from.

So, to get your cart or your money, what are you going to do? "Complaining on DP" isn't going to accomplish this goal, in my opinion. :hmm:

I agree 100%, plus the buyer lives in the UK. Customs could of snatched it up.

Simply call the guy, buy a phone card so it will be cheaper on your end.
