Capcom announced the PS2 version of Biohazard 4 / Resident Evil 4 will have exclusive new content not found in the GameCube version, including 5 new scenarios for Ada Wong, as well as new weapons and items.

I knew it, nobody believed me! I knew Capcom was going to add extras, then again, anything that takes a year to port, you know something is going on...

I think they are just pulling another Code Veronica X on people. 10 extra minutes of nothing but Wesker beating up Claire and Chris. I'm really not interested in the upcoming port, I am happy with my cube version.

Although Wesker is awesome, and I own CVX just to watch Claire Redfield get beat up OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Got my save data just before that point so I can watch it. :D

I think I can safely say that I am NOT playing this on the PS2.

I do wish they'd have put more work into The Mercenaries (see my topic!); a shop system, swappable (or upgradable?) guns would've added a lot. I already feel that I've gotten everything out of it that I wanted.

I wonder how much of a diehard Biohazard/Resident Evil fan you have to be to buy a second version for 5-10 minutes more footage when you already own the Cube version. In fact it's actually kind of an insulting thing for Capcom to do. "Hey, I know you guys spent $50 on this game already, but here's the same game for $50 more with a few more minutes of shit we didn't put in the last time. You want to see it? Buy it again!"

Ugh, I haven't played the GC version yet, but I can't imagine how BADLY this port will play and look on the PS2. I love my PS2, but come on, a PS2 port from a GC game can't turn out THAT great....

Sluggish? The only thing that interests me is the additional weapons...But not enough to buy it again until it drops to $20.

Well, I don't know why people are saying only '10 more minutes' of additional footage.

5 new missions that elaborate on Ada's mission sounds pretty kickass to me. Granted, this will have nothing on the Cube version, and I feel that Capcom doing this to the loyal Cube fans is shitty, but the extra Ada missions could kick ass.

This is just a given. Did anyone honestly expect it to not have any new content? Sony's general rule is "We don't want a port of an old game on our system unless you add something exclusive for the PlayStation or include multiple games in one".

However, a few lame extras does NOT make a game better. Just look at the PS2 port of Tales of Symphonia. The crazy fanboys will claim that it's oh-so-much better than the GameCube version because it's got some new costumes and moves and such added, but anyone with a bit of common sense knows that those cheap little half-assed additions are NOT enough to make the game worth buying a second time nor is it enough to outweigh the flaws of worse graphics, longer loading times, and worse frame rates.

Capcom's done it in the past with Viewtiful Joe so I'm not surprised. Only thing that really perks my interest is the extra weapons, but I think I'm just happy with my fully unlocked and much better looking cube version. Handcannon = sweetness.

"What the hell are you hunting? Elephants?"
