Has anyone heard from downfall lately?

I Paypaled downfall a couple weeks ago for a PS1 DDR game and I haven't heard from him since. Doesn't look like he has posted here or read any of his PM's lately. Does anyone know what is up with him?

I thought I was the only one. I PayPal'd him Thurs, Jun 16 for Secret of Mana. More than a week went by, so I PM'd him asking what's up. He replied the following day (last Monday) saying that he had his wife mail it & that he thought it was strange that I didn't get it yet. I followed up with two more PMs last week as well as yesterday to no avail. I hate to say it since there are a lot of possibilities, but I think we's gittin' scammed. I know that's jumping the gun, but I calls 'em as I see 'em. Of course, I'd be ecstatic to be proven otherwise. Until then, release the hounds!

That doesn't sound good. Great. Well, at least I paid him with Paypal, so I could always do a charge-back if I want. I guess I'll sit tight and wait for another week before I do anything though. Hopefully he's just on vacation or something. :roll:

It's good to have the charge back option although Secret of Mana in my possession is more appealing. I was thinking vacation too but who knows? His previous feedback history prompted me to buy the game from him. Far be it for me (with my low post count & trade history) to question his integrity, but nothing would surprise me in this day and age.

I just spoke to downfall last night on the phone. He's been putting in some killer hours at work and has had a hard time getting stuff out before the post office closes. He did mention that he has some packages to go out but he didn't mention anyones in particular. I'm sure when he gets a chance to login, he'll update everyone.

I edited this and sent a PM with the original to the guys that needed it. I just decided it was a bit too personal for the main forum.

Anyway, I appreciate those that vouched for me - they're right when they say that I'd never rip anyone off. I just wasn't exactly planning on what happened either.

That said, I'm going to do everything I can to make this right for norkusa and CasualCoreGamer - so we should have this all squared away soon. Sorry again everyone.

O.K., fuck being nice. Here's how it's going so far- Downfall is a lying fucking cretin and I'll back it up right now. Here's what he PMed last Thursday:



bigdaddychester is pretty close (as that is usually the case), but I didn't even really tell him what's been going on - I figure he doesn't need my crap to think about on top of just having a new baby and whatnot. He just happened to call, so I talked to him for a few minutes.

As embarassing as it may be, the real problem has been that my wife and I have had a really rough time over the past two/three weeks, which has nearly culminated in a split between us a few times - it's been a really crappy time, and I haven't been thinking about anything else - much less hanging around online. The extra time at work doesn't help terribly either.

Anyway, I'm just getting caught up - I just had to get away from everything - so I got a big stack of about 100 e-mails from the past couple of weeks last night, and saw norkusa's - alongside a million PM notices, so here I am.

Everything is getting better - it was really just over stupid stuff anyway, but sometimes you have to get things out there and deal with them. That said, it's still not much of an excuse, and I owe you guys some games, so I'll gladly refund you guys your money if you wish, and send you your games anyway. Or I can toss in some other stuff for free. Whatever you prefer. And of course, it'll have priority shipping free too.

That was this past Wednesday. That's just past the time where one would have expected a Priority Mail package sent the previous Friday to arrive. I'll bet the fuckhead is lurking around as I write this. So to all of you who vouch for this dick, Congratulations. You were fortunate enough deal with Downfall and not get fucked unlike myself and norkusa (I'll bet you your children that he doesn't have his game(s) either).

I dunno. I got the same message from him on Wednesday and still haven't received anything from him yet either. If it was shipped via Priority Mail like how he said he'd ship, it definitely should have arrived by now. :/

I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt though and see if it comes tomorrow before I start to panic. Maybe Downfall shipped them out First Class or Media Mail instead.

I just filed a dispute with PayPal a couple minutes ago, so I'll be dealing with this situation for yet another month to come. @ron_burgundy -It could have been over the Hope diamond or a 5 cent piece of gum. The point of the dispute is that norkusa and I have been lied to repeatedly by this character and that's easily enough to incite my anger. I've spewed enough venom yesterday so I'm a little more at ease now and I'm just gonna kick back, light up a spliff & just wait for the $$ to come back, comfortable in the knowledge that Downfall is the only DPer in my mind that sucks and that Karma will give him a kidney punch for me.

There's a million and a half reasons why shit happens...overworked, car problems, physical illness, unexpected crap, and so on. I've told people I was going to mail stuff out on a certain day and ended up mailing it a week later because of the above-mentioned things.

Tell you what, I am SO confidant that Downfall is not ripping you off, if you don't get a game or a refund by the end of the month *I'LL* refund your damn money and he can pay me back whenever he gets a chance.

If someone wants to make it "all better" by sending them their stuff quickly with extra goodies, and they knew that person was already upset with them, they should try really hard to get it out.

Sure people have excuses, but if I got an email saying "hey, that game you paid me for.. .sorry it took so long, but I have some extra goodies with it and will be sending it out asap for you! sorry" and then didn't get it, I'd be 100x more filled with rage than if they would have just taken my money an ran.

While he's a personal friend of yours, you have to realize that he slipped up, and they have every right to be angry at him. While everyone's freedom to curse was used to the fullest in the thread, you realize it's not a "personal" attack on the guy, just that they hate him for screwing up their orders. If I called your brother a filthy rat (if you have one), sure it'd be an insult, but it would be totally meaningless since I never met him.

While defending your buddy is noble and all, your doing it by way of attacking me is really weak and weaker still is trying to relate your situation of how you can be so overwhelmed by mundane obstacles that you can't have your shit together enough to maintain your affairs. So unless you're kidnapped by elves or finally getting a spine installed at the hospital (in the case of your buddy) there's no good excuse not to go to the post office or at least reach for a keyboard. But fuck it, I'll take your cash (you'd better hook nork up too). So long as some satisfaction is achieved.

I'm sorry to hear that, Kamino, but that's your call. I'm really all out of venom with this issue so I won't retaliate any further. Yes, my way of dealing with liars is heavy-handed and I've alienated some members with my tirade, but I tried being polite & that only led to more deceit. I figure a verbal assault will insure that Downfall won't pull this on anyone again. It's highly doubtful I'll ever breathe this much fire again and I do regret some of my remarks now, but what's done is done & hopefully this will disappear soon enough and perhaps someday you'll lift your ban on me.
