I just got the August 2005 issue of LamePro in the mail.(free subscription)

On page 29, they actually have a little GP Labs feature on "Gaming Displays of the Rich and Famous"

It says: "So you think your 27-inch Sony Trinitron is badass? Think again, chump. Here are three gaming displays that will make your eyeballs pop right out of your head"

The first thing they show is the Infocus ScreenPlay 4805. This is basically the exact same projector that I'm currently using. The difference is that mine is a Infocus X1, and this is 4805, but they are almost exactly the same.

I just wanted you guys to check this out, because they give it a 4.5 out of 5, and they talk about the stunning image quality and the fact that you can have a screen up to 9 feet wide. This is exactly what I got going on in my house, and anybody can have it too. You just need about $750. The 4805 they show is more like $1200, but you don't need to have that model.

Just wanted to show that I'm not crazy when I'm talking about my DLP Projector and my 113 inch screen. It's actually for real. And despite what they say, it's not a Gaming Display of the Rich and Famous. $750 isn't a ton of money to spend on a super high end TV, much less a freaking movie theater screen!

Infocus.com has several superior models of projector so whay would the rich and famous settle for this $999 deal after rebate? Mitsubishi is releasing a 72" 1080P HDTV soon, just what we need for our Xbox 360 and Ps3's. (any one heard of the 360 will do 1080P ?). Gamepro could probably a bit more detailed with their information, how'd they pick this? Personally I'd like to see those goggles with the LCD screens in them.

Sssh... if we keep acting like ingrates, he'll eventually cave in and buy us one to prove his point!

Until we TRULY acknowledge the fact that it's better than a sony 27" trinitron I guess. Of course, I have my own opinions on thinking whether either a 15" RGB monitor or a 9 foot spray-painted wall in the dark garage are better for gaming, but I'll stick with my 47" RPTV HDTV for now myself.

I'd much rather have him setup a link with all this nonsense into a website of his own than have 1,000 posts a month on it. But maybe that's just me?

I love how this thread is bashing him, hahah.

Seriously dude, we play games.... this aint a home theater forum. Not to be a jerk, but not many people care about your TV. I know I don't, one thread was alright but enough with the home theater setup already.

I don't.

Anthony, please, if you could, take this up in one of your other projector threads - it'd be much appreciated.

Self-appointed Deputy Mods, please, if you could, ease off. Actually, no, let me take the please out of that. Just ease off. Thanks.
