Email Subject: Headline - Coinopwarehouse building sold, 1000 machines to liquidate!
Hello! I have gotten an excellent offer on my warehouse in Hagerstown,
MD and have signed a contract to sell it. There are over 1000 machines
in the building, and I don't have a new place to store that much stuff,
so it all has to go! Most unrestored machines are now under $100, and
everything is priced to move. Email or call to make an appointment
(lloyd@coinopwarehouse.com or call my cell at 703-801-1459) and bring a
truck! Pictures are current on the website at www.coinopwarehouse.com.
Thanks! Lloyd

First I'd like to say, "Holy effn' shite!" I now wish I lived on the east (for the second time in my life). LOL
- edited out my lack of reading comprehension.
... end +1 post, thank you.

Yeah, I've been debating a trip down there with a trailer for months now. I probably still won't, despite seeing several games I'd like to restore in there.

ClubNinja,
If it's close to where you live, you should make the trip. I've dealt with them a few times over the years. I've seen some pics of really nice stuff in there! Besides, you can never have too many project games around!

Well, it's about an 8 hour trip one-way. Chad(tower) and I have considered making a tag-team expedition down there to split the driving, but the real problem is having busy schedules, families, etc, that make doing a long day trip to buy a trailer's worth of cabinets less than realistic ;)

I do understand that! I'd have a LOT more games if I had the time to get them and the space to store them!!
Yeah, I saw that too... I'll be going this weekend (it's about 1.5 hrs. from me). If anyone wants me to check on anything there, let me know.
I'll probably just be taking a van, so I won't be able to get much in there, but if I have to, I'll take a truck next Saturday to get more (well, I don't really have any room for any more games, but I'm gonna be selling some soon, so I can climb over some machines for a few weeks :) ).

Sure..I'd just like to know how many Neo Geo MVS machines he actually has there, converts whatever.....I've seen a few on the site but curious if that's it..
I'm wondering if he has any MVS motherboards or MVS carts around...Just out of curiosity..
...........
What I really need is some Klax Artwork..A Control Panel overlay and Side Art.. :D
...........
I tell my dad about this today and he says lets go...
Whew, from New Jersey I think it would take several hours to get there..?/have to figure this out.......But,I'm not going..

Sure you can. I've probably got a good solid year of project work queued up in my basement here... if not more.

Yeah. Just have a look at all the old black and whites and tell them I'm sorry I can't come down to rescue them. Their (very likely much better looking and fit) brothers up north are thinking of them. Poor old things.

I dunno. If a game is cheap enough and something that's decent to play, I can always take on a new project! Still need to go get my latest 2 in fact!! Those will put me to something like 20 project games.
Maybe I do need to cut back... LOL LOL
I'll check on the MVS stuff, I've never seen any carts/mobos there, but there's piles of boards and stuff all over that place. He did have quite a few cabs, but I never checked whether they were complete or working.
And I'll tell the B/Ws that someone's thinking about them ;) .
Oh... YES, you CAN have too many project games! My entire basement and my friend's 1 room apartment is full of about 40 games, and I'd say about 15 of them are projects, and I just don't have room for any more games, working or not :P . Right now his futon is standing on it's end in the corner of the room being held up by an arcade machine and a 50" TV ;) . I'll probably pick a few more up at COW, and completely fill up his living room :) .

anyone actually get Lloyd on the phone...i have been trying since saturday, but he has yet to answer it or return my message....i wanted to set up an appointment to go down this wednesday...but, if i cant get in touch with him i cant go
I went there on Saturday... I picked up a shuffle bowling alley, an Omega Race cockpit, a Space Invaders Deluxe, and a Berzerk. EXCELLENT prices, although almost everything was non-working, and needing at least SOME work.
About the MVS stuff, the closest thing I saw to anything MVS there was the metal plate from the top of a 4 slot board :P .
I did have a little chat with the B/W games, everyone thought I was crazy though :D .
Oh... I'll get some pics of everything soon, and I was right about completely filling my friend's living room :D .

looks like im heading out there today (july 13th) to try and pick up one or two cheap projects
hopefully non-working doesnt mean so far beyond repair that its impossible (i have repaired my machines, so i think i could handle mild repairs)
Yeah, the Omega Race cleaned up really nicely, but unfortunately there is quite a bit of battery acid damage on the bottom board :( . I've already removed the battery and neutralized the board, but when I turn it on, I get no signal to the monitor, and both start buttons light up. I think a few of the sockets need replaced, but other than that, I'll probably have to test a lot of traces. The monitor also has a couple of burnt resistors, but since the spot killer light is on, I can't really troubleshoot it, since I need a working board first.
Other than that, my Berzerk also has some battery acid damage, so I'll need to repair that too, and I'm waiting for my replacement transistors and resistors to fix the power supply for my Space Invaders.
The good news is that i've got my Shuffle Bowling almost 100%... the sound problem that I was having ended up being a cable hooked up to the wrong pins, the only other problem is a few lights don't light up, and I'm missing two displays.
tholly: My suggestion to you is DEFINATELY test the stuff out there, since he'll usually let you mix and match stuff, so if you see the monitor start smoking when you turn it on, try to find one that doesn't, and use that... and if you can, bring a multimeter and check for the proper voltages, that way you know the power supply is good, then you can swap PCBs from other machines, and hopefully get one fully working, or at least close to working there so you know the parts aren't total trash. I wish I would have followed this advice myself this last time, but I was kinda in a hurry :( . There were quite a few Omega Race uprights, I should have checked the PCBs there and found the one that was least damaged from the battery acid, and I should have tested the Space Invaders power supply since there were plenty of them. Oh well.
I've had my share of both simple repairs and total PITA repairs... the Gorf I picked up there he said to mix and match, but none work... well, I was able to make a completely working one in about 20 minutes while I was up there, and the Kickman that I got just needed the wires hooked up, and a few connectors cleaned... but the Star Trek that I picked up about two years ago is STILL broken :( .
Good luck finding some good stuff :) . I'll be selling a bunch of games that I hardly play anymore this weekend to make some room, and then I'll probably be going back to COW in a few weeks to pick up some more projects :) .

too bad i read this After I went down....oh well
but ... i picked up a complete Deluxe Space Invaders, a Pac-man marquee, the 2nd coin box for my Nintendo Vs. cocktail that I was missing, and Baseball Stars Professional (or something like that) for my MVS
baseball stars i need to pick up the mini marquee if anyone has one, id be happy to buy it
as for space invaders....i brought it home, plugged it in....nothing, no monitor glow, lights, or sound
now, i started disassembling and what not and im at the point where i have the marquee light and the blacklight working and the monitor comes up, but the picture is just a bunch of garbled junk and i have no sound
there are 2 connectors just hanging that should be on the PCB, i just dont know where to hook them up yet....once i get them on, im hoping this thing will work...who knows...at least im getting power
I wasn't totally sure about where to hook the cables up to, but I saw one pic and it looks like the top cable goes all the way to the top, and the bottom one has a plug and key, so that's pretty obvious where it goes.
