UK: Looking to buy Nomad

I am looking to buy a sega nomad from one of you trusted DP'ers, i am in the UK.

As long as it's in full working order, condition isn't a priority, but I would obviously prefere if it wasn't covered in nail polish of something.

Presumably that's a US nomad? i.e. won't play my 200 UK game collection.

Interestingly, I've bought a few mega drive games [Quackshot, Space Harrier II and Zero Wing, for examples] and I haven't had any trouble with them in my US Nomad.

That being said, Suppafly is right; there never was a European release of the Nomad.

That's odd, because A friend of mine has one that will only play Euro games, with the exception of one or two US games. He's offering it to me for £70 good condition, but he's a lazy git and is taking his time (weeks).

My two cents:

I have had many JP titles and most work on my Nomad, I had some PAL titles as well and some work.

Yet some have Country Lock On and no matter the JP carts fit in the slot in the Nomad, they won't start, as well as the regular PAL Megadrive Megaman Wily Wars that needed a converter...

IMHO you have two ways to go here:

You mod your Nomad in order to play JP/PAL games, or you get a converter ;)

IMHO using a converter would be HUGE pain in the ass. I usually play my nomad and try not to shake it AT ALL. Sometimes I just gently shake it unporpusedly and it freezes up. Just think how more fragile it would be if you used a converter too!

BTW...are there any schematics to country-mod a nomad?
