Whta do you mean? Do you mean games like Zelda or RPGs where you can change the power of attacks ue to your actions (like Paper Mario).

Here's a thread with a lot of good recommendations:
Good Action RPGs (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58181)

Also, I highly suggest checking out Secret Of Evermore (SNES) if you haven't already.

Its not really an action-rpg, but star ocean the second story has one of the best action battle systems i ever played.

I'll do this by system. I'll list quite a few of them since i'm not sure which systems you have.

genesis:beyond oasis, crusader of centy, wonder boy in monster world
sms: wonder boy series, golden axe warrior
snes:secret of evermore
turbo grafx/duo:Ys 1,2 and 3,Neutopia 1 and 2,dungeon explorer(also on sega cd)
nes:crystalis,startropics
ps2:Ys:ark of Napishtim, Kingdom Hearts
ps1:Castlevania:SotN, Alundra, legend of mana
xbox:fable
gba:all 3 Castlevanias, any zelda game on there
cube:paper mario, tales of symphonia(kind of action, kind of turn-based,battle system is weird but I like it)

Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast is one of my favs that never seems to get mentioned.

Tales of Symphonia.
.hack

The Bard's Tale (recent) is one of the funniest and most intelligently written games I've played in a long time, but its battle system leaves much to be desired.

Mario RPG Series (except for the SNES one)

why didn't you include the original Mario RPG? That game involved the same time button presses and platform aspects of the N64 games. In fact the original game did it a hella' lot better if you ask me.

Seconded. Actually, It's my favorite Action RPG ever. Stay far, far away from the PS2 sequel though. It's a huge letdown compared to the original.

No one mentioned Shenmue series, it involves a lot of fighting moves, it was originally named Virtua Fighter RPG.

Hmm... never knew Shenmue played out like that, gotsta try the Xbox version now.

But if that qualifies, I'd think Hybrid Heaven, for Nintendo 64, would too. Cool Fighting system made an otherwise boring game quite enjoyable... quickly found itself in the bargain bin too, I'd imagine it's quite cheap now.
